Insurance claim options

We had a water pooling issue over the weekend and the affected floor laminate will need to be taken out.
I have the same flooring extending from the affected area to the rest of the main floor.

How does this usually work with insurance? Would they pay (in part) for extending the change to the rest of the floor - since I cant possibly have different flooring in different parts of the house?
The adjuster did say that they would be waiting for the emergency services team to give them an estimate on the repair costs.

Looking for advice from someone who may have been in a similar issue.

Five or so years back, we had a similar situation regarding carpet. At first, the insurer (Intact) insisted that anther portion of carpet was not part of the claim. I explained that it was an eyesore next to the new carpet and not acceptable. They sent an adjuster who agreed that the near-by piece should match, and Intact did pay for it.

For us we had one side of our house with hail damage. They sent a sample to see if they could get a match, and when they couldn't, they paid to reside the entire house / garage.

I would think in your case they would do the same. Try to match, and if they cannot, redo it all. But this could also depend on who you are insured with.

I'm waiting on the adjusters report and also going to have my own guy come in and do an estimate. So far I've dealt with RBC/Aviva insurance's guys. I hope they make reasonable estimates.
