Interactive leveling up

I started playing this Vita game Criminal Girls Invitation Only, ran across it at an EB Games not knowing what to expect. It’s actually not bad of an RPG though it has a gratuitous fan service mini-games for raising skill levels. Similar to one of the Smart As reflex mini-games. Got me thinking of an old (but good) C64 game Legacy of the Ancients, in which defense points would be raised in an arena you’d pay to attend, you in the middle, fireballs coming from top/bottom/left/right and you’d have to pivot your character/shield to face it. Similar with attack points. In all other RPG, skills are raised through buying, discoveries, or grinding up levels.
Are there other games where the player raises his character’s attributes by breaking the fourth wall that way, reflecting the player’s own reflexes? Not to be compared to a straight Doom style where the ‘twitch ‘ element is the game.
