international pre-paid cell plans

Hello RFD,

Looking for some advice here. I'm travelling to Thailand and Vietnam for the first time next year. What do people do for cell phone plans when travelling there?

I'm on public mobile and there is no international add on except for the US.

Only worried because I'll need to get in touch with my airbnb hosts.

I just got sim cards when I got there.
In Thailand I used dtac (1000 baht for 30 days) and Viettel in Vietnam.
The dtac one I picked up at a booth at the mall but I'm sure you can get it at the airport when you arrive.
For the Viettel one, I bought it when I was exchanging currency at the airport.

I have an extra SIM card sealed for sell at cost if anyone interested for GTA meetup. I recently used in Korea and Japan and it worked greated on both of those country and got 4G data connection.
