Internet + home phone deal needed

we are with Rogers, been with them forever, we have a package includes TV, home phone + internet with tax in, just under $130/mth

I'm looking for a better dollar deal on a internet/home phone package

previously went from Rogers to Bell, back to Rogers .... its a hassle

I dont like to be locked in on any 2 -3 yr term deals either

presently the home phone charge is $14.95

internet is 'internet 5' (getting 11Mbps) 25GB usage/mth $28.99 + $8 for the modem + tax

anyone help me on this or any suggestions please?

Thanks

Have you called retentions?

Not sure if VoIP is a suitable replacement for your home line but it's a good alternative for many people.

I would call retentions. If they won't give anything good, give them a future cancellation date and, hopefully, someone will call you with a good offer before the cancellation date. If no one calls, you can postpone the cancellation date until you have something lined up.

Isn't Rogers home phone a voip line? That was always my understanding. I thought only Bell could provide you with a POTS telephone line.

I dont know, so just came back up from the basement & there is a phone modem, so I'm guessing it has to be VOIP

Thanks

Rogers home phone is facilitated VoIP. I have their home phone service too except the telephone modem is not connected to anything as I use my cell phone and Freephoneline.ca at home.

This is an old post but it's still relevant AFAIK: http://communityforums.rogers.com/t5/Ho ... td-p/26174

Rogers Ignaite 500U for around $28/month and Ooma Telo home phone service for around $4/month. So around $35/month for decent setup Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes
