Why it's saying "Claim your welcome offer: 1 Mail box, 50GB storage, 30 day free trial (then $5/month after)"?

This is excellent introductory offer, I would go with Ionos aka 1and1. Solid host.

An abnormal amount of downvotes.

This is a great deal - practically a freebie. The specs are more than enough for most websites. Ionos is one of the biggest companies out there.

If you're looking for web hosting that's not sketchy, Ionos is as vanilla as you can get.

I have a website hosted there and so far no complaints. Note that my website is a very basic one (no database, low traffic) and most importantly, a temporary one, I have no intent of keeping it for more than a year. This is perfect for a temporary project, 1$ for hosting plus a domain name for a year is a very good deal (includes multiples TLDs - I chose .ca and .com). I also want to point out that at the time I went with them (last march), the 1$ price for the first year didn't seem like it was a special offer, it looked like it was their standard pricing model.

If you go for one of these "crazy hosting deals" then spend a bit more and get a 3-year duration, as 1 year passes before you know it and then Ionos has you over a barrel and you're suddenly paying $8 a month. $8 a month you can get far better speed, service and features than this, and that's why they're offering this "deal".
My last and final digital game I purchased at PSN from those Sony Devils was on November 22, 2020 - Ban that Sorny!

Lots of companies offer higher-end enterprise plans at $6-$7 a month, and I use one with dedicated IP, SSDs, quad CPU, dedicated memory, high-end bandwidth + unlimited everything for $6.24 CAD a month over a 3-year commitment.

And yes, it's very fast and very stable.

I don't think it's 1$/month forever

The worst company I have ever dealt with. They will auto renew and keep sending invoices ,years after cancelling the service
I still keep getting past due invoices of the hosting services that I have cancelled 5 yrs back.
Read the terms of service carefully if they have inserted any contract clause
