I just realized that for iPhones, including the 11 Pro Max, the lightning port is USB 2.0. The 2017 iPad Pro see to have USB 3.0 now.

Is it really faster to transfer over wifi instead then?

If I want to transfer lots of files (mostly pictures and some videos) from the iPhone on iOS 13 to a Samsung T5 external SSD via Macbook or a PC, what would be the recommended apps to use for either OS?

Or this Air Transfer app that's free and highly rated?

Thanks.

iOS/iPadOS 14 speed is fine with iPhone 6s (A9), iPhone SE (A9), and iPad Air 2 (A8X).

Still a few bugs here and there though.

BTW, there is an iOS 14 thread. I suggest you post there.

I actually ended up upgrading my 6S to ios 14. I skipped entirety of ios 13 and stayed on 12.4 as feature set wasn't that interesting to take the negatives of worse battery. So far it has been good and phone feels much newer with widgets and such. Only thing that could be bad for those of us with older phones is the battery life (which was not that great to begin with) or battery drain. Some people were reporting the phones heating up in beta version, not sure if that is an issue.
Love, peace and deals.
