iPhone 12 series — thru Apple Store or Rogers EPP?
I’m planning on preordering the iPhone 12 Pro Max (or whatever the 6.7” version is called) once it gets announced next week.
I do have the money to buy it outright this time, but was unsure if Rogers EPP would give better deals.
I’m currently with Telus on a Koodo customer migration plan ($65/10GB unlimited) so Telus EPP would cost a $50 account change fee + $40 activation fee. Hence if I were to go EPP offered through my employee discounts, I would go with Rogers.
I’m looking at posts from September 2019 about the iPhone 11 series and it seems like EPP customers are usually able to get it below Apple’s MSRP. Is it usually the case?
The weird thing is my EPP authorized dealer rep mentioned over email that iPhones are usually backordered for several weeks upon launch. Is it because there’s less stock allocation for EPP? I’m going to preorder it, by the way. I did notice a $300 activation credit for ordering a financed phone upon EPP signup.
It seems like the Rogers EPP plans pricing changed overnight and is actually more expensive than my current Telus plan even with financing a phone. I might just order straight from Apple Store this time and keep my Telus line if that’s the case.
Any ideas if I should order through Apple Store or Rogers EPP? I don’t mind getting a good deal, but the delayed delivery and the potentially inferior network in Edmonton turn me off. Obviously the best answer might be to wait until the iPhone 12 pricing details are announced.
