iPhone 4 keeps turning off automatically even after replacing battery?

Has anyone had this problem with the iPhone 4? The phone keeps turning off automatically, especially when I'm using a lot of memory (open up Google Maps, Camera, etc) or turn on Cellular Data. If I turn on Airplane mode and close out all of the applications, it doesn't turn off.

I have tried restoring to factory settings and it didn't solve the problem. I recently replaced the battery and it seemed to work fine for couple of hours before having the same problem.

What could be causing this problem?

My iphone 4 kept shutting off randomly. Most times I'd go in my pocket to make a call, and it would be off. Sometimes during a call. I tolerated it a few months and then got a refurb s5.

It's probably a motherboard issue. Industry translation: likely an unresolvable problem.

Who replaced the battery, and was it an OEM with the same spec as the original?

In the past, some inexpensive "replacement" batteries for the 3G and 4G series did not work well at all.
