iPhone purchased from Apple USA store

Will an iPhone purchased from Apple USA store be 100% the same as the ones purchased from Apple Canada? (in terms of the all the bands of course)

Are you asking about a brand new iPhone or an older one?

My iPhone SE (2016) for example, had two versions in the USA -- one model for CDMA carriers (Verizon and Sprint and their MVNOs) and the other model for GSM carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, etc). For Canadian use, there is a slight difference in the bands available.

If you're talking about a brand new American iPhone, there is no difference. You can see here: LTE. Find the iPhone that’s right for your country or region.
Now: TELUS Unlimited 120GB 5G+ (up to 2Gbps) x 2 = 240 GB shared data
Old: Rogers Infinite Premium 5G+ (up to 1Gbps) Canada+US 100 GB x 2 + 15 GB bonus = 215 GB shared

Brand new. I'm thinking about getting my buddy to buy the SE 2020 for me.

I looked and it looks like the A2275 iPhone SE model is being sold both in the US and Canada, so yes they appear to be the same model. As long as the US model is unlocked, it should work fine on any Canadian carrier.

Actually, no. @TheNightOwl posted the link to apple's website.

There are 6 models. 3 GSM and 3 CDMA models

A2296 (Global market)
A2275 (USA, Canada, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands)
A2298 (China)

All three have esim support. Just make sure you buy the GSM version not the CDMA becasue becasue they carry the same model number. The difference of each regional iPhone is the bands available.
