IPTV with CARRYTEL not working wel

I have been with Carrytel almost 18 months and been using IPTV box mag 254 12 months with Gold Iptv service but since last week haveing problem with Iptv only for streaming and VOD during Evening time only around 4pm to 11pm. contacted Iptv provider and was told not the service issue and run speed test multiple time on hard wire postive results feel like internet servers are blocking only streaming services even on pc too

Is any one else haveing issue with Carrytel near Ajax pickering area.

Thanks

Yeah noticed similar for IPTV with carrytel. ToS do mention traffic shaping but claim streaming services are prioritized. Given that those boxes are on all the time, they must be sucking a lot of bandwidth so I would not be surprised if actions are taken.

Using VPN has been the solution for me.

Don't have a box as I seldom watch TV anyway. Using my desktop PC (STB emulation or KODI), vpn just for the PC when needed.

I'm with Carrytel as well and have been experiencing this same issue. I would experience tons of buffering in the evening hours with my IPTV. I've started using it through VPN and it seems to have resolved the issue so far.

Yea using vpn in router only for mag box is it possible if select 1-4 different locations and set it up in router turn all on so only mag box can go through those vpn tunnels. Either one or have to be one on at a time

I saw someone post CarryTel will make your internet unsuable for 3 months if you exceed 1500GB, this maybe is real.

My plan is the 40/10 cogeco though carrytel and I'm having the same issue, and its been happening for months now. I tried bunch of Iptv like gold, express, ok2, they freeze everytime between 5-11pm but work fine at my parents house (they have rogers)

I think it is time the RFD community "blacklist" carrytel. Unlimited service should be exactly that, unlimited. Streaming video is not a heavy load on the system, we are talking about single digit mbits/s.

There is no torrenting in the house, we don't have netflix and I don't recall the last time we were below 1.5TB in a month. Time to switch providers.

You can try a VPN to test. If still no working, call to your ISP or just switch.

Why? They don't throttle and it's unltd. I torrent and stream and go over 1.5TB routinely without issue

No kidding. With these multiple threads of traffic shaping this ISP should be removed from the Hot Deals forum. This is not a hot deal by any means for throttling and traffic shaping. Better off paying more and going with Start.ca or Teksavvy and skip the bulls**t

Still a good deal depending on your use cases but additional disclaimer may be good to make more informed decisions. ToS do specify possible traffic management.

I see ToS as being a CYA thing that should be used with great caution like the notwithstanding clause in the Canadian charter. Just because a customer watches IPTV is not enough to disrupt any network unless it was a dial up network. The data rate is hardly anything.

I have never used CIK myself. I do recall last year a neighbor down the street was so crazy about the great pricing. It wasn't long he said he switched back to Rogers.
