Irrigation & Winterization -- Shut Off Valve or Popup Sprayer?

My backyard irrigation contains 4 heads. After changing 1 of the heads to a modern unit then capping down the rest i noticed the one head is capable of watering my entire yard. The other 3 heads are redundant.

I dont want to create dead ends during winterization and so capping the other 3 heads isnt an option nor is digging for piping. I'm wondering if placing quarter turn shut off valves on the ends is acceptable; the shut off valves on the 3 heads will be closed during spring /summer then FULLY OPEN during the winterization process.

Will having all 3 valves fully open during winterization significantly affect the water blow out effectiveness? Or would it be best to always have a low precipitation sprayer on the 3 heads?

Thanks
