There is currently a 15% off offer running on all there other antivirus and internet security software but I haven't compared those prices.

This is an okay deal, really wish I had got more of those 4 year (6 dollars each) codes and of course the lifetime sub for 20 or 30 dollars 4 or 5 years ago.

Hi Mary. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

Yes, but I'd only use it for it's on-demand scanner to occasionally check up on Defender. Same with AdwCleaner. These two are the most powerful on-demand scanners out there. https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/

If you get infected more than once, I'd add Malwarebytes inexpensive Real Time protection in addition to Defender since they check for slightly different variations of infections. But that's not necessary for most users. The two can conflict some, too. But you need an anti-virus and Malwarebytes is not that. It is a malware scanner, slightly different. And AdwCleaner is slightly different than that. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcle...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

you need an anti-virus and Malwarebytes is not that
That's not accurate. Malwarebytes is an antivirus like any other, and scores very well in antivirus tests. These companies actually share many of the same virus databases, so it's very easy to be an antivirus, and there are lots of choices. Windows Defender in particular is free and gets the same AVTest antivirus score as Malwarebytes. Also, there's a setting in Malwarebytes to turn off integration with Windows security, so then both Defender and Malwarebytes are on and double-scanning everything.

More importantly, there are many types of attacks OTHER than viruses, so modern security software is now anti-malware in general. What you really want is UBlock or whatever installed in your web browser, because the web browser is how most people run into bad stuff.
