I've lost respect for Pippen. Calling Phil Jackson a racist.

Greeny from ESPN, Mike Greenberg said it best. "It saddens me that Scottie Pippen primarily looks back at those years with bitterness."

This is the problem the world we live in. Some are just way too sensitive. Some just can't handle the truth.

Here's the link to this drama...

I feel like he's doing whatever he can to stay relevant.

He's been saying a lot of things as of late. The KD and LeBron thing, etc.

His son died 3 months ago. That's devestating. Maybe he's going through something and needs to seek professional help.

In the meantime, he should stay out of the limelight and focus on healing from that.

With all of that said, great players don't make great analysts.

I just don't get why all of a sudden he would just say this now? I'm guessing to sell his book?

Well - the 90's was a different time. I'm sure there are tons of reasons why he chose to keep quiet then.
Endorsements being just one such thing.

As for now - obviously to promote the book.
Possibly to get things off his chest.

In life, one is often forced to eat all sorts of shitmeade sandwiches, where it is in the later years that it becomes unbearable to stay quiet.

Pippen is probably bitter he signed a long-term lowball deal when he was in his prime but that mistake was his own.
His wife also slept around with rappers and current NBA players before that ended in divorce.

Players like Vince Carter would be paid $40 million a year today compared to the $12-16 million they were getting back in the early 2000s.
It's funny how Pippen hates Jordan and says LeBron is better but some people in LeBron James' own family say Jordan is better than LeBron.

I have a hard time turning on Pippen. Obviously he's hurting. On a separate note, I find it odd OP posts videos of 3 white men talking about this, any reason for this? Also I think the guy in 2nd video is so disingenuous. You can think or do something that can be deemed racist without being a racist - this guy is a total shit disturber and then rides on his mighty horse.

Yes. These are the days we live in. A white male cannot talk about a comment a black male said without being labelled a racist. If it's positive that's fine. Remotely critical than you are a racist. A black person labels someone a racist and voila there must be truth and not merely a perspective that may be wrong or exaggerated.

I'm a Scottie Pippen fan and empathize for his horrific loss and hope he finds peace. I do think he made a bad business decision when he signed that contract. Then again, a hefty contract comes with expectations. Look at Marner - I made sure I picked a white guy.

To clarify, the guy from the 2nd video is the one that actually labelled Phil Jackson a racist. What Pippen said was Jackson's decision to have Kukoc in the play rather than him was racially motivated - Pippen is totally entitled to his opinion and feelings (as we all are) but doesn't mean what he said was true or fact. It was the interviewer who equated this alleged racist action to mean Jackson is racist (that was the point I was making) - yes it's true that Pippen didn't refute that but he's not the one that said it - that's my point. You can have a racist thought without being racist - it's called being a human being. As for Pippen - I agree. He's hurt and hurt people, hurt others.

However, it's unfortunate that you believe the part in bold - I don't think that's the case and by perpetuating this falsehood also perpetuates hurt. Yet, at the same time I get it because just like there are right-wing nuts, there are left-wing nuts who also perpetuate victim-playing and refuse to take personal responsibility - it's always someone else's fault. Yet, it is clear there are many white people who really don't have a good understanding of past and present racism and systemic and rampant it is - they only understand it at a superficial based on what they've heard or seen in media rather than lived experience and then you have these left-wing extremists (white and non-white) who shame others who they don't agree with. This is a long way of saying, it's a vicious cycle.

it's funny how Pippen's head got so big lately. i feel like he really thinks that he was as impactful to those championship teams as MJ.

i find the media and fans (mainly lebron fans) tend to over rate him so they can say that MJ only won because of Pippen. but if you watched the games and you look at his stats, it's evident that he's really just an "ok" player. no where near top25. hell, not even top50.

as for him thinking that Jackson picking Kukoc over Pippen for that final shot was racially motivated? i don't think so. like i said, he's just an "ok" player and so was Kukoc.
