It's just marketing and comes from their marketing budget. Just like free samples that you get anywhere. Small price for the publicity. And nowadays you have IG influencers that'll basically advertise for you if you give them a small freebie. Or even any regular joe blow will post their hot dog on FB or IG and boom, u have more advertising.
Way cheaper and way more effective than doing print ads or banners, etc.

I won't be in YVR for a few months, but glad that food court has a new option. Haven't had a japadog in a decade.

Japadog is great! They've had a location in the outlet mall near YVR for a couple of years. and we always stop in there when we visit the mall. Who knew that hot dogs could be a gourmet food?
