Unfortunately, one of the purchases came back as a refund after 3 months were over, the points clawed back. I have since completed the gap with separate charges, this is obviously outside the 3 months. But the balance still shows -ve.

Should I wait or call AMEX to see if anything can be done?
Not really much you can do, you should've spent more had you known you'll have a refund (but that's hindsight)
Hopefully the -ve balance isn't too much and usually AMEX won't care much when you close the card in future
If it's 60K~75K WB -ve balance, then I really have no idea

In the US, it usually means 7 years.

What's the consensus here? Or is it very much YMMV?

I don't think I could necessarily get t;he great welcome bonus deals from previous years...
I don't believe it's really "Once per lifetime in Canada" but what do I know, I've been Amexiled since 2020, ha
but I'd guess 2~5 year gap is really okay, the longer the better
and in that meantime, one should be "rotate" through the card line up and not repeat previous card
Bonvoy family - AMEX MR family (Personal, Businss) - Aeroplan family and so on

Not sure whether this has posted, but in amex ios app, you can select default card to set which card you want to see first. Before the change, system set the default card, so even you don't use the card, it still showed the first when you logged in

A bit confused on what would warrant having issues with Amex.

Can someone clarify if this is not allowed:

Opened an Amex biz Gold last month - in process of meeting minimum spend to get the 75K points

If I then open a different Amex card right now, maybe a personal aeroplan or the personal gold, etc - would I be eligible for that bonus as well? And if not, would that also risk me becoming "amexiled"?

I have a lot of spend to do in the next couple months so trying to maximize my return (prefer travel-related). Already have CIBC Aeroplan VI . So thinking Amex -> transfer to Aeroplan may be best bet to get even more value.

Should be nothing wrong with this strategy.

good to go with this different products. possible amexiled when you churn too fast of the same product.or Self Referral etc.,
having multiple products would be fine.
