I've always been curious about those Ontario Employment Centres. Are they basically just resume workshops and a job board for what you'd say on Canada Job Bank? Or do they do actual placements? Otherwise, an employment/temp agency would be better I'd think in terms of the volume of jobs they have.

OP, forgot: until you find a job, instead of sitting home, do something to cheer you up - weather these weeks is great, go for walks. Toronto is beautiful, ducks are happy the lake melted. Grab your bike and go around. Will help you to put yourself together.

Don't give up OP. There's more to life than a job. Talk to your wife and friends. Seek professional help. There's lots of people who want to help you out.

Op. Try going elsewhere (outside) of Toronto or Ontario. Your area is Canada's socialism epicenter. Companies have been leaving and outsourcing from this area for years. All that is left is mostly min wage labor or service jobs.

No, if you don't have money and can't support your life style then it's hell. Not trying to be negative but that's how it is.

Usually don't mix my opinion with moderating, but I think an exception can be granted in this case (by that I mean having the last word on a thread). OP, my only words (if you're even reading this) is to fight the good fight. We've all been down on the ground. Heck, if we could all live perpetually off the silver spoon, RFD probably wouldn't exist. I can only advise you to speak to your wife (you owe her that much), find some good hobbies, play around with your job hunt strategy, do some skills development (ironically, this is the time to do it), grab a cold drink with buddies, do some volunteer work, and (asking a pass from the RFD community, though this thread should be in OT), seek spiritual development and consult your local religious leader (and if you don't have one, find one).
