Instant Yeast, $5.99 for 450g

Deal Link:
Price:
5.99
Retailer:
Johnvince
Saw this available at Johnvince Foods today. $5.99 for a bag of 450g.

Tried to find yeast at so many stores (Costco, Food Basic, RCSS, Freshco, No Frills, T&T) and just couldn't find any in the last few weeks. Was glad to see this in Johnvince Foods, at 555 Steeprock Dr (south of Dufferin/Finch, Toronto).

Update of 2020 Apr 29. Some people went today and there is still lots of stock and few shoppers. Still limit of 2.

I purchased some at a Nesters Market in Vancouver for the same price.

I’ve heard that this is available in quite a few cities now.

I got it on Sunday. There were maybe 20 packs on the shelf. There’s way more in the photo in this post. I would call any store to ask if they have it.

I use vinegar and magic baking powder as a substitute for yeast. It works surprisingly well.

Very fascinating. Any further details? Amount of each to make this work? Thanks!

Just a heads up for everyone in the GTA who can't make the trek to Toronto, my company is shipping 8000 pounds of Instaferm dry yeast to all Fortinos locations today.

You should start seeing single portions hitting shelves as soon as today, if not tomorrow morning.

The grocery store at cummer and Leslie in North York had lots of yeast a couple of days ago

I wonder if Costco's supply chain is finally getting caught up? Found 2 lb bricks for sale this past Wednesday for $4.99 in Saskatoon. There wasn't a whole lot, maybe a couple cases, but it's been out of stock at my local store for weeks.

I just ordered from Supplybox.ca . There is a shipping charge but when no stores had them it made sense. Picked up active yeast as well.

This is the right price.
There so many price gouging going on my online community groups, selling the exact same thing for over $12.

You know the world is in a bad place when yeast is getting upvoted on redflagdeals.

HAHA

I've been looking for a few weeks, all I have is my yeast I make beer with and bitter bread isn't that pleasing.

The Kennedy/Sheppard No Frills had it 2 days back.

Also a lot of Asian supermarkets like Foody Mart have it, but they’ve jacked up the prices.
