I hope it does very well. Will Smith maturity and vulnerability is something to appreciate IMO. Just finished watching it and I thought it was really good. I didn't really know about their story beforehand besides knowing they were from Compton.
I don't think you need to be a tennis fan to enjoy it as my wife liked it as well.

Feel good re-imagining type of movie but it paints a very skewed and inaccurate picture of the real Richard Williams. From what I remember he was a very authoritarian and controversial figure who treated Serena and Venus like objects. Here is here portrayed as some goofy kind genius.

Available on HBO Max for 31 days after release.
King Richard will be released on HBO Max on November 19. It will stay on the streaming service for 31 days, after which it will be exclusively in theaters. (Until at some other unknown point it will be added back to HBO Max and/or made available elsewhere.)
