Kitchen appliance recommendation

Hello, we have a $10k (pre tax) budget for kitchen appliances for a new home. Would appreciate recommendations on brands and any specific model #s. We have to finalize in the next 30 days, any specific stores in the GTA that have promos going on?

Need a double door refrigerator (with ice/water on door), surface cooktop (36”), dishwasher (I hear good things about Bosch), built in wall double oven and a free standing microwave to go on a shelf in the cabinets. We were looking at Fridgedaire Gallery/Pro, GE for the price point, would love KitchenAid if the budget allows. Been advised to stay clear of Samsung although I’ve had LG appliances (Fridge, stove, microwave) last 5 years with no issues.

It’s hard to miss if you have looked around. Boxing week savings in July on appliances in some of the big box stores and maybe at other places too.

I saw the big box stores and after keeping a tab on a few models over the past couple of months, prices are either the same or just slightly lower, doesn’t seem like much of a boxing week sale to me. The only added benefit is no interest for 18 months (Home Depot) or free delivery, quite the disappointment.

Any particular brand or model #s that are recommended for wall ovens, refrigerators and dishwashers?

Lots of threads on this topic
It comes up AT LEAST once a week
(RFD Forums are searchable ... you might want to seek out some of the threads on specific appliances ... like DWs, Fridges, etc )

Example ... recent DW thread = dishwasher-recommendations-2385814/

Here’s a reply I did recently for a complete suite question:

(It’s prob where the RFD Mods will move this topic to)

Agree with the others.
Stay away from LG & Samsung ... and The Brick & any discount Appliance Stores
(Again lots of threads on RFD concerning all these ... and their problems ... also Reviews all over the www. You can GOOGLE for more info )

Don’t get locked into the idea of having to buy a one brand suite.

Yes you’ll get a discount ... BUT you may not be getting the best appliance for your money.
As not every Co does all 7 of these items well (understandable)

Example ... GENERALLY SPEAKING ... Maytag is exceptionally good on wet appliances like Washers & Dishwashers.
But iffy on Fridges & Stoves.
Frigidaire is good for Fridges & Stove
Etc

My best advice ... do your homework / research
Look at Consumers Reports on anything you are considering (independent evaluation ... much better than Reviews you’ll find online tied to the Manufacture’s websites)

Used to be Sears was the best place to buy ... Pricing, Sales Service, Delivery, Installation, Take Away, Warranty ... and After Care / Repairs
Sadly they are no more
These days ... Costco comes the closest
Lowes isn’t far behind
Or some Mom & Pop Furniture & Appliance Stores ... or the smaller local stores / chains

If you can hold off ...
Autumn is the best time to buy most appliances ... as the NEW models come out
And stores will have featured sales on those
As well as clear out sales on last years models

Exception ... Fridges & ACs ... where NEW Models change over in the Spring not Fall
https://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeown ... ances.html
Also of note ... as you are in the GTA / Ontario. The Energy Rebate that gives 25% Off has been extended until September 30th.
This is where the Rebate goes to the Retailer directly, and you the Consumer get the 25% Off Immediately @ Purchase
Some Retailers are still offering this ... as they had unused rebate amounts available to them before the Covid Shutdown
Check websites ... AND ASK ... if you don’t ask, you might not know / get
(Example, Rona still has rebate available = https://www.rona.ca/en/energysavings )
