DC motor is a plus. But when it comes to repairs, you have to replace the entire motor, not serviceable item.

FYI, this is the same model Costco used to sell that many people hated. The difference is this one has a glass bowl.

The Costco one did have the DC motor going back about 4 years iirc. Costco then changed to the AC one after that I believe. Kitchenaid then release the remainder of that model under 6000HD through other retailers (I have the 6000HD)

I’ve got no complaints about it at all but I think the complaints at the time were predominantly due to the shape of the bowl. It has a deeper & narrower bowl (the tulip bowl) which didn’t work with any of the mixing accessories.
