[Koodo] 10GB/$50 - Lunar New Year Plans

Koodo is matching the Virgin Mobile Lunar New Year plans: https://www.koodomobile.com/rate-plans? ... 21_HPTile1

6GB/$45
10GB/$50
12GB/$55
14GB/$60
16GB/$75

Much better than in-market plans and Koodo has better customer service than Virgin. No indication as to when this offer expires. Like all online offers, activation fees are waived.

UPDATE: Offer ends Feb. 22, 2021

UPDATE 2: Koodo has changed the 10GB/$50 to province wide calling only. This is inline with their plan to drop Canada wide calling on all new plans effective Feb 23.

UPDATE 3: Canada wide calling has re-appeared on the 10GB/$50 plan.

Meh. Only good to add another line if you're an existing Koodo customer.

These plans are for new customers but if you call they might offer you something for being an existing customer. Has worked for me in the past.

Why isn't there a data plan cheaper than$45. Been waiting to get a Pixel with cheapest data.

Will I lose the 5GB free add-on if switching the base plan?

Wouldn't the pre-pay plans be cheaper? Unless you needed to get a phone as well, not sure why you would want this.

I don't see those via the link. Is that because I'm already Koodo customer?

From $60/10 in market to $50/10 over a couple of years. Not bad. Thanks freedom i guess.

Considering switching to this from Rogers 50/20 since this has international text and I can get a CPO iPhone or P5. Hmm.

Good deal if you're getting a new phone or adding a new line. It doesn't show up in the online "change my plan" selection, so I scheduled a callback. The CSR said they couldn't switch me over to it as an existing customer, it would have to be a renewal (and I can't afford/don't need a new phone right at the moment :D ) But if you are an existing customer and want to get a new phone, could be a good option for you.

There is a 5 dollar option to get international sms with Rogers, so another way of looking at it, 5 bucks for an extra 10GB. Other possible negative is no Caller Name ID, and outside of Canada wifi calling, and no throttled data after your 10GB (it's $10/100mb)

Public Mobile has same $25 plan PLUS 1GB Data.
And if you AUTOPAY, the monthly fee is $23.

Tried Fido just to see if they might match as their coverage is better at my work and home. They only offered $60 for 10GB, No thanks.

Fido has $50 for 10g GB plan as well, but it seems like it's targeted offer, I got a text message for this plan
