Darn.... but not surprised.

I am kinda surprised there isn't any promo's out there right now from any carrier.

What do you mean by getting hosed? If I were to change my plan down to the $35 talk and text plan eligible on tab small, and then add the 10GB for $15, would they remove it?

Just curious as to what you meant by that. Thanks.
I'm pretty sure if you downgrade your plan you have to pay the remainder of the prorated phone credit (that reduces over two years, separate from tab).

I have received this promo and I am contemplating on getting it. Any idea on how to reach call center? I called twice and all I get are pre recorded messages to use self serve.
thats only if the toc in your offer says that...

Got the offer.

I'm on the $50/8gb plan and last billing cycle did almost 1GB. This billing cycle I'm at 70mb LOL.

Safe to say I most likely won't be adding this promo.

Yikes. Well, I decided to take a stab at it about 15 minutes. Downgraded to the $35 plan (no warnings of that, but also didn't investigate my contract, whoops), and I'll try adding the add-on in a few minutes.

I guess I'll see on my bill in the next few days.

Checked my latest CSA (as of January 2020). It says nothing of the sort when it comes to changing the plan, so if that ends up being the case I'll be fighting them on that one. I've attached a screenshot of the pertinent section of my CSA.

Did you get the addon after the downgrade?

I believe it's laid out a bit clearer during checkout when you get a new phone, but I don't have someone else's screen shot to refer to, and I refuse to grab a new phone under the current system.

Well, no dice. Just tried adding the add-on and got a reply of: "Koodo: Sorry, we're temporarily unable to add this add-on to your account. Please try again tomorrow. Visit koodo.com/selfserve to check out other plans."

Only other reason it's not going through is that my plan change may still be in the works, as I have not received any confirmation email in regards to the change. I'll try again once I receive that email.

Hopefully the worst case scenario is I change my plan to the $50/5GB in-market plan on Saturday (when my billing cycle restarts) and go with that temporarily. Absolute worst case scenario I end up paying up the nearly $400-$500 remaining on my tab/credits. But as I said, I don't see that in my CSA so it's hard to say.

Got the text! (I never get the promotion text)

Currently on BYOP 12GB $60.00 plan with friends and family discount.

$48/12GB

Wouldn't mind getting more data as my workplace doesn't have WiFi and am always at 90%~ of my data cap at the end of my cycle.

How could i capitalize on this promo?

** just checked the online self serve and its giving me an option for $50/5GB. If I were to downgrade the plan and text the promo I'd be able to add it on? $50/5GB + $15/10GB add on, with the friends and family discount?

You have a tab? Maybe that's the reason why. OP said, must have no tab to work.

In regards to the possibility of being hoisted the remainder of my credits/tab, the current "Nitty Gritty" that I found when opening a new line states that they can terminate the agreement in accordance with the service terms, or if I were to renew or cancel my line. As far as I can remember, that wording was similar or identical when I renewed. Again, we'll see when my bill comes in a few days.

I got the offer as well. On the Promo $40/8GB plan, but average about half the usage.

Interesting that I'd receive the offer to begin with if that's the case. Oh well, live and learn. I'll post an update if anything changes.

Go to the Koodo site and chat with the automated system. When it asks what you want to do, type in “Cancel my service”. That’s how I got through.

Still, worth a try even you didn’t get the msg, just send the text to the number, you may still have a chance to get it if you need.
So does that mean ALL of us will get promo messages in the next few months? lol

Keigotw wrote: There is $35
Unlimited Canada-wide anytime minutes
Unlimited messaging (text & picture)3
Call Display, Voicemail, Call Waiting and Conference Calling

( if you can't get the $30 one from Koodo Loyalty)

So $35+ $15= $50 /10GB save $10/month
That's pretty good. I currently have $55 9GB, $50/10GB sounds amazing.

First time I've actually been eligible for a data addon that isn't crap - has there been any major event yet where Koodo has kicked certain people off the addons, or raised the price? I know they're good about not raising plan prices, but addons...

EDIT: ah crap I just realized, with Koodo's new tab rules it wouldn't matter... I don't think I can downgrade tab sizes (currently on Tab Medium, S10...) or else I forfeit the phone credit (~$800). Downgrading to $35 plan from my current $55 plan would be a tab size change...

@NavieM or others, any data points on this yet? Can you downgrade tab sizes after you pay off the tab without forefeiting the phone credit?
