The way I see it, I currently pay $35 for 4gb data to PM, this offer is basically +1 gb of data for the same price I currently pay with the real chance that they will just increase prices in the near future.
Ontario wide calls vs. Canada wide calls is meh for me and it's not like I actually use the full 4gb I already have, so not quite a rush to switch.
Besides, if they are this desperate for people to switch as this is the 3rd deal I believe, there is likely to be more.

If i decide ti switch to Koodo, my PM sim still will work till i port in my number to koodo, right? as the mail will need a few days and i dont want to have no plan in the mean time. or do i have to port in my number right away when ordering the koodo sim?
Yes, I believe that's the way it works. Lots of people were doing that, but then when the SIM arrived they ported a different number, not their PM number- so your PM number should keep working until you receive the SIM and actually say "port my number now!"

There's no service interruption. You port when you receive the SIM card.

The more I think about this the more I think I will stay with PM. Too many referrals. So far none have left and most got the text. My cost would be about the same after I account for the $180 and $50 referral credits. But that goes away and then I end up paying more again in a year.

If I do migrate, I will likely keep my PM account open but switch it to a $20 or $25 plan as it would be free to me.

My wife is with Koodo so I still have an avenue to get a phone if needed.

I still have a week to figure it all out

Hey guys!!!!
Just wanted to chime in and let you guys know about my experience. I migrated from public mobile, back in early March to Koodo for the 6GB/$40 plan. I called today and while I didn't get my plan changed the supervisor gave me a 2GB permanent addon for free. So it's basically the same thing as the new plan.

I initially spoke to the first Rep who told me he couldn't so anything. So when I got transferred to the supervisor I just told him I was upset and didn't think it was fair for the early adopters of the plan.

How can that be? They don't port your number during the ordering process. You do that separately after you receive the SIM card. Check your Public Mobile account. Maybe your account went into suspension due to non payment or renewal problems.
You're right. I'm dumb. Everything is okay now, thanks. :)

How soon after you received the sim card did you resort to calling in and trying to port?
4 days, or 2 business days

wondering if I have pm $10 30-days
50 MINUTES Canada-wide Talk
UNLIMITED Incoming Text
50 TEXTS Outgoing International Text
VOICEMAIL⁹ & Call Display
will work on this Koodo promote?
Probably not on that plan unless you got a text. You can try on Koodo website using the JOINKOODOAUGDATA and your phone # but I haven't heard anybody on the $10 plan that is eligible.

If I'm with Koodo already (60/10 GB), and decide to switch to PM in hopes of getting a better deal like this one in the future, would I need a new Koodo SIM card if I decide to switch back or can I reactivate my current one and keep my phone # after the switches?

Thanks!

You need a new sim card. You can not re use sim cards.

I am bleeding some referrals, but I take it in stride. Easy come, easy go. Once this promo blows over the $25 referral bonus offer will come into focus. That's the one I have my eyes on.
