Sigh...Called early this morning. No luck again switching from 40/6 to 40/8.
First rep could only offer 1gb add on free for 2 years, and then transferred me to a supervisor (in Canada) but she flat out refused (again). She wouldn't even offer me the 1 gb the rep before offered me. Asked me to provide a phone number of someone I knew who was able to get it as proof..

Anyone successful with switching want to provide an account # we can reference? :D
The problem with gauging potential success through asking other's results doesn't work. I think that the more people ask the more they are inclined to say no. The early birds already snapped up the low hanging fruit. Each time you call and fail, there's more notes in your account. It's like building a higher and higher wall to climb. The less stress approach is to get a Public Mobile line and participate in future offers. Even if you don't put all the eggs in one basket and move everything out to Public Mobile, just one line will give them the necessary hints.

Finally migrated over to Koodo.

Total was:

Pixel 2 XL (535) - GC (150) - trade in (50) = 335

$40 8gb + $8 (tab small) - $15 (12 months migration credit) - $10 (5 months referral)
You got a pixel 2 xl on a tab small? What was the upfront cost?

Migrated today at WM and got an A8 for free after all was said and done. ($120 up front, tab small, + tax - $375 gift card). Also got the 1000 minutes of international LD, which is a WM promo right now. We signed up for the $35/5gb plan with the $15/month credit. How can you beat $20/month/5gb/unlimited talk & text/1000 minutes international LD plus a free phone?

Yeah...I'm getting the sense they might be basing future decision on past notes left on my account. I wonder if I had my 4 koodo lines on one account (vs separate) would have led to more favorable outcomes.

So what is the cheapest Public Mobile plan one could sign up for and theoretically 'park' until the next promo?

I went to WOW Mobile. While I was there in line, there were at least 4 people who ported from PM to Koodo, most of them got iPhone 6 and 7s, and Samsung A5's.

For some odd reason, the system did not allow me to go on a Tab Medium. The rep said susually this is when people have bad credit, or has a record with Koodo, as in a churner, or have cancelled with Koodo in the past. However, I was originally with Koodo BYOD until Fall 2016 when I ported to Public Mobile for their $120 12gb 90-day plan. I have been with PM since. I've always gone BYOD, this is actually my first real brand new phone from a Carrier.

Anyways, my cost was $398.xx upfront. This is with the $150 gift cards, $50 trade in credit. They also asked me if I wanted free 1000 Long Distance minutes to certain countries, I said sure why not.

Hmmm, on the website this is true. Unfortunately, there is nothing on the bill and sales invoice that indicates this. I did look at my tab balance on the Koodo website and it says $175 for some odd reason. Isn't a tab small $240?

Koodo is really tough on issuing tabs to customers. If the banks were like that, most people would no qualify to buy homes and would have to live on street corners.

Did your phone deal include some sort of bill credit from Koodo? I made a phone purchase in March where they offered a $100 credit off the phone on a medium tab. Instead of giving me $100 up front or on the next bill, my tab balance was reduced to $260 for a medium tab. So, each month I have to pay $11 for the tab.

Rep did not say anything in regards to that. He did say the tab was $8 a few times. I guess I won't know until my first bill comes.

Just to confirm this deal is impossible to get as a new customer right?

You have to be a public mobile customer first?
