PM is really not so crappy. At all. It's the best PAYG service available IMO. You won't notice being on LTE Lite.
the only plan close to my current zoomer ($35/2gb LTE) is their ($35/1gb 3g speed) if I dont get the promo text and force to keep this PM plan, that'll be quite a downgrade with lower data and speed =( just trying to justify the risk&impact of not getting the promo.

If you order online, are you paying for the plan immediately? Or when SIM ships?
You will get a bill in the mail. Unless you are current user with a profile to send ebill or text.

They say they throttle to 3 Mbps but I've gotten like 50 Mbps. You should be getting the $40/4.5GB anyway since this promo wasn't offered to people with cheaper plans.

Anyone confirm if new PM activations will work for this promo?

You might but the $180 Koodo bill credit is for BYOP.
the 180 credit is not for byop.

I have a sneaky suspicion you cannot stack the 180 credit with 300 referral.

I think you will only be able to have up to $300 max credit applied to any account per year.
So, this 180 means you'd only be able to add two friend referrals to it to hit a max of $280 credit.

Just my thoughts....
Last time I did this the 300 credits and the 100 dollar transfer did not interfere with each other.

Have been following this thread since the beginning and reading every post and it's hard to tell. The only think I know 100% sure is that 10$ PM plans aren't eligible. Some might have been able to switch but we don't have all the details in order for me to give a 100% accurate answer.

Have you found anyone who tried and it didn't work? Except 10$ plans?

I am happy with my $120 for 90 day plan with 12 GB of data with Public Mobile and with all my referrals and other rewards I am down to $33 per month with 4GB of data per month and unlike Koodo which I am POSITIVE will jack up the price a year or two later, this plan with Public Mobile price is fixed as long as you remain with Public Mobile.

How do we know this? Public Mobile once tried to force us out and increase our price, and they received thousands of complaints within 24 hours which were sent to the CRTC where Public Mobile customers proved that the price of their plans would be valid and would NEVER increase as long as you remain with Public Mobile and Public Mobile Management within 24 hours of those complaints sent all of us "I am sorry for trying to screw you letter, you can still remain with Public Mobile at the same price and you do not need to switch to Koodo".

Reality is, all Telus (who owns both Public Mobile and Koodo) care about is making their Telus shareholders happy so getting switched into Koodo makes more sense when we talk about cash flow. They honestly can keep that Koodo plan and shove it up you know where as don't expect it to be $35.00 for 8 GB or $40.00 for 10 GB monthly for a very long time. There is a reason why there are giving you a 180 dollar bill credit too which is to offset Koodo's huge price increase on these plans which I believe will happen within 18 months of switching since there is nothing written that these Koodo plans will remain at this price (which they won't).

Are you saying if I do a higher priced plan it will work?

Hilarious

I placed an order for the $40 / 4GB plan then changed mind and cancelled
A manager offered me the $40 / 5GB plan before it was ever offered to general public
I placed an order for the $40 / 6GB plan and the Koodo webstore cancelled* my order and I spent 3 months arguing with them about it
I placed an order for the $45 / 8GB plan and it took them over 2 weeks (and multiple complaints) before they actually mailed the SIM
Then I get the offer for $40 / 8 GB plan today and placed another order (planning to force them to convert $45 / 8GB SIM to same or cancel that plan again)

Koodo is ridiculous seriously

EDIT
* - the claim being the promo code validation (number) already used, despite the fact they could clearly see the 4GB & 5GB plans were cancelled

Has anyone switched from a $10 plan to a $40+ since this started and been eligible for this promotion?

I have switched to Koodo from PM about a week ago, and still received this text. It looks my number still qualifies for this promo (even though it's not a PM number anymore).

But how can I make this deal work? Order another sim, make another self-serve account? Thanks!

I have placed an order using a $10 plan as validation code and it passed
So 100% wrong :)

The $180 credit does apply to BYOD. I went SIM only and confirmed over the phone that I do have $180 in bill credits.
