Damn I wish I waited to switch, I got the 6gb / $40 promo with $100 in credits (at a time with $100 referral though so ended up being $200 - this one plus referral would be $230 in credits with the current $50 rate)

I just switched to the 45/8GB plan on the 21st. I just visited the KOODO retail store and they said they would charge the $30 activation fee for switching plans. I am now on hold for approximately "1-hour" with KOODO's customer service line hoping to have this changed with no fee. I will update if I am able to switch my plans and take advantage of this plan.

Got the sms too. I still have $52 credit with PM. Guess will jump to Koodo deal. Is it worth it if I choose a phone (with any koodo tab) ?

With Koodo referrals - does the referrer get $50 too? Might end up switching my wife and I both to this, want to factor in the credit for essentially self referring for the second line.

Call the Koodo number (1 (866) 995-6636) from a non-Koodo phone, or Skype/Google Hangouts; select Option 1 English, and then Option 1 again for new line activation, and then Option 0 to speak with an operator.
You'll be connected to an agent in a few minutes instead of 1 hr :).
