I am on Koodo now ($48 5GB) and is interested in this, but is it too late to get a new PM account just for this?
Yes.

really have no explanation for this.
they rarely send out offers to have people switch to cheaper plans, that why this time is kind of unique because $35/5GB is offered. (but if you think of per GB price it's actually expensive)
maybe sign up a new $40/4GB while it still available?
The $35/5GB is probably aimed at those on the Fall 2016 promo and with 1 or 2 referrals. Maybe it's just easier to have one promo code going around.

Both wife and I got texts as well. Went to Koodoo's agreement policy and it clearly states they have the right to change the plan and will give you 30 days to agree or you may cancel. If you don't contact them, you automatically agree to their new agreement/plan. No thanks, don't want the plan changed 12-18 months after and you don't have a leg to stand on to complain. 4gb month with NO change on PM, thanks!
That's what I'm worried about too. On one hand, I agree with you, but on the other, do you really see them hiking the prices by $30 and losing all these customers?

Why do you say 12-18 months?

Not sure if this will help you, but heres picture proof that it can be done.

Where do you see the screen one the left (removed and added items). My transaction history page doesn't show it in that format.

This could be a nice way of killing PM and/or turning PM into another chatr. Rogers isn't worried about Chatr 3g data folks.

PM LTE folks are the prime folks that they want out and moved to Koodo

1) Better to have pay-after customers
2) Easy to slowly move them up this rate. (Like Chatr did with their original mobi plans)

Heck even PM did that with the original PM plans. (after Telus acquired PM)

probably not. I think they see tab plans as like a contract for 2 years even though its technically not.

$10/50mins/texts PM -> $45/8gb -> $40/8gb
One call less than 2 hour wait and less than 5 minutes speaking with a single rep who changed plan and confirmed update on self serve.
Excellent service. Did not push for any extra credits as I was originally $10 plan.

Because that is what telecommunication companies do in Canada with no competition.

So my brother got the text from public mobile, successfully changed to koodo's plan: $35 for 5GB. I was playing around and put his phone number in the validation code and it worked (I can add it to cart). Is this normal? If it goes through, does that mean I can port over (I'm at rogers).

That's from the email I got confirming the plan change.

Hoping someone can help me out here...

I'm on the 45/8 deal with my number I want to keep. What's the best carrier to port out to so I can port back into Koodo with the 40/8 deal and $180 in bill credits?

So what is Telus' play here? Why do they seem to be trying so hard to get people off of PM??

switched to PM less than a month ago to the $40 for 4.5GB 3G speed to wait for koodo offers, received this text today and switched right away to $35 for 5GB on tab med for the huawei p20 pro.
