Was on the $40 6GB, called in and after a 90 minute wait rep said no way to put me on the 8GB plan but offered me 1GB for a dollar which i took. Still happy with $41 7GB.
I don't understand why they have to treat their previous customers like crap when it comes to newer promos. It's not going to hurt them at all if they offer the 6GB/$40 customers the same plan or upgrade them for free. I mean they are already offering the plan for a reason. So their reluctance makes no sense at all.

I was on hold at the start for a whole hour then when I finally got the first rep she had absolutely no idea the plan existed until I told her about it. Once she found the plan she gave all the nonsense like "oh you already got the deal before", "no way I can change anything now", "this is a special offer for new customers only (and loyalty means jack shit)". So I asked to get transferred to a supervisor, while on hold though she came back (which was odd I thought I was already in-line for the transfer) and told me she has to end the call because they are closing. So I'm going to call back in the morning, tell them whats good.

Is the order process very different from the past? Back in February/March, the web store would activate and ship SIM card so that the activation email and shipping email were within a short period of time. Is there huge delays been shipping email and activation email?
To my knowledge from last $45/8GB Data Plan, yes there ship out unknown Sim Card to each individual, within few days follow email with activation Koodo account set up links

Maybe Koodo offering this deal will cause a round of competition from Rogers and bell, like last year when all the carriers offered the $60 10gb plans.

Hi,
When I was creating account online,I had a selection in the Phone number section.
1.Give me a new number
2.Transfer my current number.
Which one should I choice if I don't want to lose service during the waiting time for SIM card?
Thanks
TRANSFER A MUST , when you receive the Sim Card,do what you want so Koodo will not start thinking, this PROMO for migration from PM

I received the text on one of my family's PM lines. If I take the text in store to WM, get one of the activation GCs, can I ask the WM rep not to port the number? I actually want to port another number, but don't mind waiting a few days and doing it myself in Koodo self serve.

That was in response / worry they will loose customers to freedom mobile new lte network. This is a very specific targeted promo for PM users (not even bell Rogers users)
No way Bell Rogers match or want to match these prices.
Bell Loyalty (or unloyalty) could only offer me a plan that was MORE than my pretty bad current plan $55/2GB Boyd ... 15 year customer... bye Bell. Hello Koodo and public mobile

Any one switch from 40/6 to 40/8? I saw a lot of people here switch from 45/8 to 40/8.

FYI I was told at the wow mobile that the sim card fee of $30 is waved for back to school, and they even gave me a print out signed saying it will be on my second invoice.

I would suggest online because is your family PM line,at store will charge you $30 for set up fees and must port the PM line over to Koodo, online you have the option to transfer your own phone number, when you receive the Sim Card

Sorry, but IMHO there is NO CHANCE they would waste the marketing period of Black Friday on a migration plan for existing customers. Something like Black Friday is used to get NEW customers, not inch existing customers up the desirable path. The whole point of this migration coming out now IMHO is that their BTS stuff didn't produce high enough numbers, and this was a quick, relatively free, way to pad their post paid numbers (could have been the plan all along).
Koodo is letting people activate a migration plan without forcing people to port the PM number to Koodo. Telus is actually getting more new subscribers.
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Koodo $30 plan, PM $38 5GB plan, PM $8 plan to replace Speakout,
Zoomer loyalty family plan for 4 lines $117/6GB, $0 FPL home phone

I read that some users were unable to activate their sim unless they port their PM number. Is there anyway around this?

If it's $90 that you paid already for next 3 months nope it's gone. If it's actual credits $ in your account you can ask a mod to transfer to another pm customer. Some Koodo reps have added credits in previous promos but I doubt it with $180 in bill credits
Is this possible in your experience? I searched the PM forums and everyone seems to say transferring credits to another PM customer is not possible.
