I have $50/8gb + ($0)5gb addon = $50/13gb. I see the $50/12gb, but I wonder if I will lose my add on if I switch? Anyone noticed if they did/didn't?

Thanks - seems like a lot of promos lately.

I went from 8GB/$50 to 10GB/$50 to 12GB/$50 in the last few weeks.
Let's hug it out

Yes you absolutely will. I tried the same thing last week, was informed only after getting the confirmation email that the $0 5gb add on was gone, and had to call in to have them reverse everything. It is ridiculous that they make no mention of alterations to the add ons until after you give the go ahead, and then have no automated rollback feature that doesn’t involve calling in.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess it's best to stick with what I have for now.

I have the same addon, actually they mentioned it when they added the addon for you years ago, any plan change or even get a new contract phone will loss it.

Thx OP! Bought 10 😂

You can just ask them over support to move you over and keep the addon. It's been known for quite a few years now that changing your plan removes free addons, but you can get them to do it. Recently upgraded to $50/10 and kept my epp and $0/4gb.

Thanks!

I went from $55/10G to $50/10G last week (I didn't realize there was a base rate change) ... might as well get some Free GBs while I'm at it this week.
If my post has helped you out, gimme a thumbs up! Buy/Sell/Trade with Confidence!

For all those in Ontario - why not just switch to the Virgin $40/10GB plan? The Source has a promo for this right now for black friday - 2 year reduced price then it goes up to $50. They also give you a $100 The Source gift card. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Keep in mind, if you're on an older plan, your plan says xGB of data or shock-free data. The new plans say specifically "at 4G speeds". I don't know how that will affect you in the future, but if they make us pay more for 5g that's gonna suck

Yea, except Virgin Mobile has shitty CSR when you have complaints, escalations. No way... website is sooo lacklustre in features, details, descriptions. My experience?? Made 4 inquiry calls. 1 dropped call, 1 hangup, 1 person didnt know anything and transferred me to an irrelevant dept and they knew nothing, and final call couldnt understand the rep's heavy Indian accent. Not a good impression. Smiling Face With Horns  Angry Face FAHGETABOUTIT.

And in the end you still only use 3gb

Because many Koodo users here are upgrade from Public Mobile (and someone published a bug, even you are not a Public Mobile user, you still could get the deal) on 2018, we got $40/$45 for 8Gb + $xxx Giftcard. Later on, Koodo also offered a free 5GB addon bring this to a total 13Gb.
It's a permanent plan, unlike the other companies only offer 2 years promotion, then price will go back to $50 or more.

It’s almost a certainty that they will. We’ve seen this playbook before during 3G to 4G.
