Going off of your bands list, missing B13 for extended range LTE, which is the low frequency band for better coverage (but terrible speeds). Probably important for coverage but I guess a trade off for B66?

Most rural towers use 700 mhz band 12, so missing 700 mhz band 13 is probably not going to be that large an issue.IEpicDestroyer wrote: ↑ Going off of your bands list, missing B13 for extended range LTE, which is the low frequency band for better coverage (but terrible speeds). Moto G6 and Z3 Play have B12,13 & 66. But not sure about VOLTE as it also depends on the provider.
Motorola USA site have them on sale right now.

Again, so people are clear this is the LITE version.
Weaker 12nm CPU (P30/P30 Pro is 7nm 910)
IPS Display (P30s are AMOLED)
Rear fingerprint sensor (P30s have in display reader)
Weak camera stack (P30s have different/better stack)
Your choice if you're ready to compromise this much or wondering if the P20/P20 Pros probably better.

The Canadian H873 LG G6 support following LTE bands 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 20(800), 25(1900), 29(700), 30(2300), 66(1700/2100) and support VOLTE, I suppose the G7 does as well. The only problem is if FM allows VOLTE on non Freedom phone.
My Bell LG G6 has both wifi calling and VOLTE option available with a Bell sim but once I replace it with a PM sim , the options are gone but PM does not support wifi calling or VOLTE.

Why is this being downvoted? Seems like a decent deal.

Freedom has rural towers?IEpicDestroyer wrote: ↑ You sure that’s the case with Freedom? I know the big 3 does that but don’t think it’s the case with Freedom.

No... you can find some towers equip with the same bands as the ones used in rural areas. Sometimes I pick up B13 instead while on Public Mobile (Telus network) when inside my home... which is in a major urban area in GVA.
Freedom doesn’t have towers in rural areas but will use bands that have better range than speed to help with getting you coverage inside homes. Freedom uses B13, that phone supports B12. Wrong band, no support.

I do not think too many phones support band 13, so when the phone and tower supports it, the tower slots that bandwidth to them, to free up bandwidth for other phones. In rural areas of Nova Scotia, we have towers that only support band 5 LTE (shared with 3G), and band 12 LTE, which is enough for the population.IEpicDestroyer wrote: ↑ No... you can find some towers equip with the same bands as the ones used in rural areas. I believe, because of our sparse population, the CDMA network is slotted to be shut down last here. There is not as much rush to refarm the spectrum as in other areas.

Since when was B13 part of the CDMA network? I get connected to LTE while on B13. I only pick up B13 or B17 while coverage is poor, I can pick up B4,5,7 while in better spots or outside and my phone will connect to those over the lower frequency ones.bridonca wrote: ↑ I do not think too many phones support band 13, so when the phone and tower supports it, the tower slots that bandwidth to them, to free up bandwidth for other phones. I was poorly making a point that some areas need spectrum more than others, and some areas can afford to have legacy networks to linger on longer on than others. Those areas are not likely going to see band 13 towers anytime soon. They are more likely to refarm the existing CDMA spectrum when they shut down the CDMA network first.IEpicDestroyer wrote: ↑ Since when was B13 part of the CDMA network? Ahh I see, that's true, if it works it works! Telus and Bell already have most, if not all, of your CDMA network down by now, so they are probably working on that.bridonca wrote: ↑ I was poorly making a point that some areas need spectrum more than others, and some areas can afford to have legacy networks to linger on longer on than others. I like how we got all the way here when the original question was if this phone worked on Freedom! I was just trying to say that the sole low frequency Freedom has, B13, isn't compatible with the device, which may reduce some coverage for said device.

Anyone know what will happen to Huawei devices on Koodo? I'm hoping they go on firesale so I can get a P30 for cheap!
