If I was to get a deal on let's say a medium tab with koodo I would be responsible for paying my phone plan price and my $15 a month tab for 2 years. Now would I be able to switch my plan to say a small tab plan while still paying off the original medium tab or would they not let me drop from medium to small plan while paying a monthly tab?

I haven't been following the Koodo thing for a while but I heard the change was coming. Is there a discussion thread about this change? I need to get a couple of new phones, but I wouldn't be flipping them, so I'm find with contracts anyway.

No you can't drop to a different tab, because then what would be the whole point of a tab?DonM28020 wrote: ↑ If I was to get a deal on let's say a medium tab with koodo I would be responsible for paying my phone plan price and my $15 a month tab for 2 years. Called Koodo - got $100 bill credit applied to my account so got the iPhone XR for $20 on Medium tab.
While at Walmart got a family member: IPhone 6s Plus for $0 on small tab and $275 gift cards on $25 talk and text plan. (Total monthly cost $25 + $10 = $35 per month.)
They also had the following available on small tab w/$25 monthly plan:
IPhone 6s $0 + $325 gc
iPhone 6s+ $0 + $275 gc
IPhone 7 $0 + $250 gc
IPhone 8 $120 + $250 gc
iPhone 8+ $ $240 + $125 gc

I enquired about this about a week ago at a Best Buy mobile and it was I think $800ish on a tab small, might be off but all I recalled was it was a seriously absurd price and wasn't worth it (to me)brampton90 wrote: ↑ Is anybody providing xr 128 gb ?

I’ve heard they will keep selling the exact same XR just at a lower price. I guess $100 below premium price.

I've been with Koodo for around a year and have gotten 3 phones from them. I was previously with Freedom for over 5 years and my parents were with Rogers for ver 5 years and in all our experiences, Koodo has been the best.
I just got the Iphone XR during the sale for $120 on a tab medium. I had a $170 balance on my old phone and only reason I upgraded was because it broke. They gave me an additional $125 credit on the tab medium making the actual price I'm paying for the phone $15*24=$360 and me not having to pay anything up front for the phone. I did not even have to negotiate unlike Rogers who I have to argue with for over an hour to get a deal, I simply called customer service, told them that I was looking to not pay a lot up front and that Telus was offering the XR for $0, the first agent wasn't able to offer anything more than a $120 credit over 12 months so she transferred me to loyalty where they were able to offer me the upfront credit. When I first joined Koodo I got the Pixel 2 XL for absurdly cheap, after owning it for a while I gave it to my mom to get an iPhone and got the X for more than 50% off what retail was.
I don't know too many details but I do know people use to buy the phones on sale and flip them, why are you saying Koodo is a bad company because they stopped this? The promos and credits are usually for current Koodo customers, they are promotions to entice and reward their customers for staying with them. I saw some replies saying their business practices suck but really Rogers and all the other mobile carriers do similar stuff, often even worse stuff, it's a problem inherent to the industry itself...
I love Koodo's customer support and plan on sticking with them, when I was with Freedom I would get similar credits till they got bought by Shaw, after that my experience with their customer support became pretty bad so I left.
Anyways, this is a good deal for an iPhone XR, I can't justify spending $1000 on a phone so I think this worked out very well for me.
