[Koodo] Koodo 4GB add on for FREE

Update October 27 2020: Call Koodo and ask for 4gb add on for $0 on $45+ plans.

Some people are reporting that 5GB is expired but they are offering 4gb!

Reposting this deal from the Freedom Mobile thread

Here’s how you get 5gb free data add on for free

- cite FM have 11gb for $35
-CSR will talk to their supervisor
-supervisor will approve the 5gb add on for free
- they will only add 5gb on top of your current plan

Thank you to everyone here for answering all my questions, i know i asked a TON of questions.

In return, I will share what I did for people new to this: (most critical part is bolded)

++

1. I went on the Koodo website and clicked Contact at the very bottom.

2. Click Koodo Assist.

3. Chat with the bot, will have to login to your Koodo account.

4. I typed "talk to a person" and scheduled a callback, but you can also threaten to quit by typing "cancel" and scheduling a callback. For the "reason" for your inquiry, i put "freedom has a $35 for 11gb plan for koodo switchers, can you match the offer?", but if you're threatening to quit, just type "cancel, freedom has $35 for 11gb plan"

5. It may or may not tell you how long the callback will be, but my experience was 1hr later. Just stay glued to your phone.

6. When they call you back, just mention the Freedom deal for switching from Koodo, is there anything you can do to match? Or if you put cancel, just say you're thinking of switching, can they do better on the data to match?

7. They will tell you how Freedom's plan isn't comparable etc, etc... But that they can add a $0 for 5gb addon for you anyways, transferring to Retentions/Loyalty would take too long so he's authorized to do it for you.

8. Pretend to think about their offer of a free 5gb as if you're not sure if you'll accept A FREE 5GB(!!!), but all the while acting like you didn't hear about the deal from RFD because you're a true RFD'ER, and you're super pumped that they're gonna upgrade you 5GB!!!

9. Realize that you have to accept the offer, so don't take to long to reluctantly say "OK i guess I'll have to take the free 5gb, *SIGH* *SIGHHHHH*"

10. They will add it to your account which will show up as a $0 5gb addon instantly in your Koodo account.

11. Say thanks!

++

Also, BIG SHOUT OUT to the UNSUNG HERO of this deal, FREEEEEDOM MOBILE!!

THANK YOU FREEDOM MOBILE FOR FORCING KOODO'S HAND!

Took advantage of this today, previously calls the CSR said they were sorry to see me go when I complained that new customers were getting better offers. Previously on $60 for 8Gb, was offered to either add 5Gb onto current plan, or downgrade plan to $50 9Gb (4Gb + 5Gb bonus). I went for the latter.

I'm guessing you have a multi line discount or 15/mth 2y bill credit or something? The add on is only eligible for plans that are 35/month minimum

Remember when everyone wanted the Rogers $60/6gb as that was a screaming deal a decade ago? Never thought I’d get $40/11gb. Still not European prices but I don’t feel like I’m getting hosed now.
If it’s not at least 50% off is it really a deal?
