Over the past week I tried calling 3 times to ask for the free 5gb because of the Freedom switch promo but was denied because I already had the 10gb for $15 add-on. I was on a 0gb unlimited talk+text for $35 making my total $50 for 10gb. My FB messenger suggested Koodo as a contact so I decided to try once more. They said the 5gb for $0 was no longer available but were able to offer me $35 plan with 5gb and keep my 10gb add-on. Maybe something new or exclusive to the FB messenger CSRs.

Called in today and said I was being offered 11gb + 10gb free from freedom if I made the switch the csr offered the free 4gb instantly and I confirmed that everything else on my plan would stay the same and he also said that the free 4gb is there as long as I am with Koodo, so I now have 16gb + 4gb for 65$ a month. Plus my long distance thanks Koodo!

Gonna be doing the gf’s right away aswell she has the 6gb for 49$ so will be 10gb for 49 for her

You didn't get much resistance because both of your plans are > $45.

Very highly unlikely...

Yah that’s fair enough I started getting close to using my full 16gb in a month so the extra 4 is a plus

I am currently on that old famous $60/10GB plan.

Has anyone dropped the price of this plan or have they just gotten more data? Am I being ripped off here?Face With Rolling EyesLoudly Crying Face

I was able to get an added 2GB last year ( making it 12GB for $60).

Just to confirm that free data add-on is indeed stackable. My wife recently signed up to the $50/9GB plan (4+5 free add-on) and they were able to arrange another free data add-on.

Don't think so. New customers pretty much start at market offers which are almost never competitive. But with Koodo you can get a loyalty deal pretty quickly, I would say within 2-3 months after signing up. They always have some kind of deal happening.

One of my lines was $60/12GB, and the best I could get from them was $50/4GB + 5GB. They would probably give you $50/4GB + 4GB, and remove the 2GB added last year, claiming they cannot stack with the 4GB. They actually can, they just won't. You can try arguing for it, or file a complaint with CCTS.

ddot98 wrote: That might be pushing it a bit. If it's categorized as a winback plan, then you might actually have to go through the motions and hope you get a call back. Telus clamped down on the $45 25GB offer when the abuse got a little out of hand. Koodo's policies might be the same now.

Remember, the data add-ons for the $0 Shaw offer are $10/GB. A straight up competitive offer would be the $20 talk and text plan + $0 2GB add-on. Anything more is exceeding the competitive offer.

But if there's one thing we've learned from this thread, it's YMMV with the reps. If you catch the right rep on the right day, you might get it. Try calling in a couple (or 8) times and see how it goes!
This thread is at 170+ pages now so sorry for not reading through it all. Is there a new $20 talk + text plan now with Koodo? I have 3 people on $25 talk + text so this would save a decent chunk of money over the course of a year.
