I'm on $40/6GB. Called in today and the guy told me, in order to give me the 4GB add-on, he would have to "upgrade" me to the $45 plan which comes with 2GB. I was like WTF?

I called in again today to get them to increase the GB but no luck - they said only they can only add 4GB if you're on a plan $45 or higher. Even threatening to leave didn't work.

Just curious, how does Freedom Mobile compare to Koodo? Worth switching? I've been with Koodo for~10years.
I thought I'd try one more time this time using FB chat and I was able to get 2GB bonus without any hassle - so I went from $43 for 1GB + 1 GB to $35 for 2GB + 2GB. I'm pretty happy with that.

I almost never pay attention to this sub-forum and so glad I happen to see it - thanks OP!

However, they said the part of my complaint where I said Koodo is actively instructing their reps to screw over customer falls outside the scope of their mandate. lol But you can be sure when I get that call from Koodo management, they're going to hear about it regarding their sleazy used car salesmen tactics!
Thank you for the update!!!!!!

I think the Freedom-match promo has technically ended, but a few people have reported still being able to get the 4GB addon free, if your plan is at $45. Be prepared to call several times, and/or contact them thru social media.

Yeah I can add that the 4GB is real. Did it through Facebook message. I have 2 lines and they gave me 4GB per line for nothing. Thumbs Up Sign

Right now Telus is offering $50/ 20GB plan.

Has this worked in lowering our plan as well with kodoo. They once called me and offered a $60 unlimited plan about 1 month ago

I suspect this will fall outside their mandate
There can be lots of system requirements that prevent adding promotions as well it is an unadvertised promo so policy dictates not everyone is eligible as well

Best of luck but I doubt anything will happen beyond a PR move (some of the PR moves are very good tho so maybe)

I requested to reduce my cost so they had no issue removing the $15 add on and adding the free 5GB option

Oh awesome. I got denied thru FB. How did you get it? What did you say? Anything particularly special??

Scheduled a callback, call came five minutes later

Said spouse and I qualified for several of the $50/20gb epp offers but I did not want to switch

After some hold time, got transferred, retold story, guy started on some hemming and hawing

I interrupted politely to reiterate that I’d been with Koodo for a while, had that offers for more data, was happy with Koodo coverage and didn’t really want to switch because I didn’t think I needed 20GB, would be happy to stay if I could get a bit more data, knew there was a $0 4gb add on and that would be enough.

Guy seems relieved to get down to brass tacks, said it was kinda against the rules but he’d do it anyway..., Face With Rolling Eyes

Two minutes later my two $45/4gb plans now have the $0 4GB add ons.

Works for me

Callback rep told me the best they could do is 50/8 or 45/4. Asked them if they would stack the 4gb add-on on either the 45 or 50 plan but no go. Going to give this one more try before porting out to the Rogers EPP plan.

Just curious, did anyone manage to get bill credits? I have many lines with Koodo (5+) and they wouldn't budge in on multi line discounts.
