[Koodo] Koodo $65 6GB BYOP plan for all prov (excl QC) - $55 yr 1

As of today Koodo is showing ON some love with a plan to rival Fido's boxing day plan ($60).

6GB (4+ bonus 2), unlimited Canada wide calling, vm10, unlimited texting, etc for $65 with 12 months credit of $10. May be extremely limited in time but at least today and tomorrow it should still be available.
I just switched in store.
This is available to all customers, new and existing, but the line must be activated as BYOP (thank you, @jjpun and @j0nny )
It won't work if you have a QC number, even with a ON address.

For clarification, this is a 4GB plan, with the bonus 2GB being added at a later date (not clear to me when but within the fortnight).
Also, on the self serve website it looks like a 2+2GB plan. On the app it is a 4GB, so a complete, jumbled mess of a reaction to Fido.
The $10 credit for 12 months will only be visible on the bill rather than in the plan itself or the paperwork (unfortunate and shady but that's the big telecom way).
Going on a tab would forfeit the bonus 2GB (Koodo rep to Mobile Shop manager via text)

Virgin also has a similar offering but this is covered by someone else's post.

Thanks, I prefer Koodo as an existing customer, speed is much better I noticed IMO. Will try to switch to this plan

Apparently Virgin also has a similar offering.
Why would any sane person on a QC plan try to willingly get this over the $51 6gb Tab Large QC plan? lol

Well with the 12 months $10 credit the effective rate would actually be $59/month over 24 months. Also Koodo has VM10 vs Fido's crappy VM3.

switched to Fido.
Got wife $50 referal credit and 10% off each line.

Effectively making each line $54 for 6GB on Fido.
Nice find either way OP.

Fido's LTE is slower. I just switched from Telus to Fido and noticed it. If I knew this plan, I would have switched to Koodo

That's very arguable, someone could live closer to Rogers tower which means faster internet vs Telus.
Thanks for the upvote! 😁

Better voicemail, cheaper at the outset (55, not 60, for one year)

Their twitter account is saying it's for new activations only. Did anyone have any luck calling in?

On the phone with customer service they could not see it either (just the 2+2 plan at 65). But the Koodo kiosk at the mall as well as the mobile shop at Loblaws had it.

It's for new activations, yes. But the phone people were willing to put me on the 4GB version since I had only activated a number a couple of days ago

My cousin tried to call in and they wouldn't do it. We just got the emails a few hours ago about the plan but reps over the phone are saying its only a one day deal but Fido is 2 days

And? Who cares what anyone else has if it's not available currently to the general public?
