[Koodo] The New Koodo Loyalty Plans Thread

UPDATE #3 $35/2gb plan available that can be stacked with the targeted $15/10gb add-on offer

UPDATE #2: $25 unlim talk and text available through loyalty. Can no longer be stacked data textCan be stacked with the targeted $15/10gb add-on offer

UPDATE: Koodo also has the $50/8gb, $55/10gb, $70/15GB, And $75/2GB plans available through retentions.

Another cellphone thread I know, but this is for the fellow Koodo users who were feeling left out in the Fido thread.

In response to Fido's $60/15gb BYOP plan, Koodo is offering a $60/12GB plan. I was originally on the $60/10GB plan and got switched over thanks to a tip from another RFDer in the Fido thread.

It was mentioned that they may also stack a 1-2GB free data add on to bring it to 13GB or 14GB. I already had a 1GB add on and extensive call history with koodo so I didn't push further lol.

TO GET THE PLAN
  1. Call Koodo at 1-866-995-6636
  2. Immediately ask to be transferred to retentions/loyalty
  3. Ask if they have any plans to match freedom or Fido's plans
  4. Profit

IMO this is better than the Fido's BYOP plan due to being medium tab eligible (I know, 2 years commitment). Also Fido has a history of raising the price of their plans. Currently paying $54/13gb and $35/7gb.

Not related to plan but 10$ for 100 MB is such a blatant theft. Canadian market is going crazy.

Plan itself is excellent except when something happens and you need extra data

Nice find OP!

Question for Koodo users - I'm currently on the BYOD $40/6GB plan (took the port offer over from Public) which AFAIK is considered a Small Tab.

If I was looking to sign a 2-year deal on Black Friday for a new phone, is it better to change to this $60/12GB plan now so that I can get on a Medium Tab? Or wait til Black Friday to get a new plan and new phone from Loyalty/Retention at the same time?

If you're comfortable paying $20 more for double the data, I say do it now. No guarantee the plan will be available on Black Friday since this plan is in response to Fido.

If a better plan rolls out on BF you can switch again.

I'm currently on the Quebec 10gb for $57, I wonder if I would have any hassle calling in to switch to this plan... Anyone have insight?

Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't even realize that.

I'm fairly certain that I won't go over now with 13gb, but the one time I did, I called in and they gave me $5/500mb. However the $5 was pro-rated over a few days so I only paid <$0.50 for 500mb Face With Tears Of Joy

Can never get past the virtual assistant. Calling that number leads to a text from Koodo saying to visit their virtual assistant. The virtual assistant doesn't let me type anywhere and I can't request a callback.
