[Koodo] Refer a Friend $50 for a limited time (ON/BC/AB only)

Refer-a-friend is now $50. Can't really recommend them at this point though, unless there is another PM migration that might happen.

Want to make an easy 50 bucks?
Refer a friend to Koodo and you’ll both save money on your bills. Got a lot of friends? You can save up to $300 each year (includes tax)1.

Not with Koodo? No problem. Just sign up today and start referring.

To take advantage of this limited time $50 offer, referrals must be sent and completed by June 8, 2020. After this date, our Refer-a-Friend value returns to $25. Friends must activate and submit their Koodo phone number in order to complete the process. No need to go into a store, you can simply activate online!

If you sign up with Koodo, see if you can use a number from AB or the territories. You'll pay just 5% GST on your monthly fees, but no HST or PST - regardless of your billing address.

Long distance charges will be taxed according to where you are when you start the call.

Quebec probably still has the best plans I’m assuming, but with a Quebec number you’d have to pay the extra Quebec fee.

Not many good phone deals anymore, now that you have to repay the outstanding phone credits if you decide to upgrade or cancel before the 2 year term is over. With that said, Koodo still a great carrier overall and been happy with my $35 5GB plan (ported from PM).

Desperation.

$45/1GB standard pricing, $10/100MB overage.. who'd do that to a friend.

yup i have the same plan x3. I just renewed them all for 2 years because I doubt any better deal is coming in the near future. Sold the phone for a small profit. So if I look at the bigger picture its more like 25 dollars per month for 5gb. Downside is if my phone breaks or i need a new one I will have to hunt for a deal else where. But it has already been 6 months, so only a year and a half to go. If you are on a good koodo plan (the public mobile migration plans) I always advise them to get the best phone deal whenever possible if you aren't already on contract, but too many people are crying about how you can't just buy a new phone every month now that koodo has changed their policy.

They have a call in offer right now for 4GB $45/month, with the option of free activation or $5/month discount for 24 months

What's free activation? I assumed it's the fee that's paid when you activate & start a new phone number line in-stores but there's one for online too?

That's right, the fee is voided online but you do not have the option of receiving the alternative $5 discount for 24 months. The $45 4GB plan is only available online after entering the promo code: STAYCONNECTED and validation code: NL1XE3F1SVX but I had no luck processing the order. (Website lagging out with an error). Either way if you're planning on staying with the new plan for longer than 8 months you can save an additional $5/month for the remaining 16 months by calling in. ($80 for full term)

Ohhhh I understand now. I was under the impression the $5/month discount was already applied for the $45/month & that it was originally $50/4GB originally. Thanks for clarifying.
