I hope you go into all the other cell phone threads and demand people posting non-koodo deals to change the price to reflect early cancellation costs too. yeesh.

Samething with freedom and every other provider. Freedom sells it the same way with same languagepjw918 wrote: ↑ His requisite freedom sux! post.
Koodo obfuscates ECF.
"Includes $645 in phone credit"
A "credit" that becomes a penalty.
How is that not misleading?
They could not have picked a better presentation to obscure the new reality..
And Koodo inflates the ECF with their higher-than-MSRP 'Retail Price'.

I got scammed by koodo the other day when I got my Note 8 for $120.. Huge scam. And they even make me pay them $35 a month for my 5gig plan. Now I have to stay with them for 2 years:( I might just go with another company next time because they will let me cancel without any penalty and keep my phone.....)
Now being serious here. Times were great and we all had fun taking advantage of koodo but unfortunately it has come to an end. Now koodo is just like EVERYONE ELSE. If you dont want to stay dont get a phone same as every other company.....

They should call it what it is, a 2-year contract with ECF.pjw918 wrote: ↑ His requisite freedom sux! post.

Looking to add a new line for my wife and she likes the S10e. Besides Koodo, is there another carrier with a competitive offer and a lower buyout should you wish to cancel early? She needs unlimited text and calls and only 2gb of data.
Any insight is appreciated.

Okay I will bite and get the S10e.
I am on a $60/12gb plan so I don't think there will be a better plan coming out in a while.
$480 is a great price for an S10e or tor ANY phone with SD855.

For people that need math worked out for them.
The Public Mobile $38 plan for 24 months is $912, with the 1 month discount on the second year, which drops it down to $900. Get the phone for $679 at Best Buy
That costs you $1579
A worse plan from Koodo is a $55 plan for 24 months and that costs you $1320, the phone will cost you $480, and you are stuck with a 2 year lock in.
Total cost is 1800.
This is why these deals get the downvotes.

I am assuming you are getting a refurbished s10e from a 3rd party seller for that price. If you want to compare new phones from bestbuy to the equivalent new phone from koodo you are looking at more than $1000....bridonca wrote: ↑ For people that need math worked out for them.

Forget all these inflated prices .. what we would like to know is how much these phones cost straight out of factory, before they pass thru all the hands adding their 100% profit each time

You new here? Freedom deal is posted all the time and most pages filled with people begging for various promo codes
Freedom is hot garbage and sky high regular prices so their "deals" are mostly when they blast out their endless F&F promos with GCs
Freedom is running the bigger scam locking people in for 2 years with their terrible service. At least Koodo has a decent network

This is even worse. Not the same phone as koodo. The international version sold on amazon doesn't have the same specifications as the Canadian model and it would be interesting to try and get any warranty from the international company who is selling the phone.bridonca wrote: ↑ $719 at amazon. First off, many of us are former PM'ers who jumped to Koodo. They offered several hundred in credits plus we all got a $200 or $300+ GC when signing up new lines, plus sold the phones. We are so far ahead but your ultra simplistic and woefully incorrect calculations don't account for anything else but what fits into your argument.
Your Koodo plan prices aren't correct, your S10e price isn't correct, and your corrected Amazon link is for an international version that is definitely not correct. Abysmal attempt and not remotely based on reality.
It's hard to even legitimize your point when it's so wrong.
PS: how can you compare a $38 PM plan when a lot of people migrated to a $35 Koodo plan? Apples to oranges?
