[Koodo] YMMV - IPhone XR 880 (400 + tab large) with 199 in bill credits -existing customers

On the koodo mobile site now.

Not a blazing hot price, but interesting as it is a current release phone and they are now already discounting it.

Retail is 1060. Tab Large deal is $400 + $20 for 24 months (880). And it includes $199 in bill credits.

So net $680 plus tax for a new iphone if you have a plan large enough for tab large.

Tab Medium is less good. $600 + 24*15 (960) and only 150 in bill credits.

You mention that it includes $199 in bill credits, so net is 880 not 680. POIDH?

Same here. And these are already included. So once again, net is $400 up front + $480 over 24 months.

There are $180 in "activation credits". That is their discount off the retail price. So 880 vs 1060.

But the offer includes 199 in bill credits over 6 months. So you pay 400 + tax, pay 480 + tax over 48 months, but they give you ~33 off your bill for 6 months as a perk.

Hence, net 660.

What I didn't realize was how much of a jump it is from a tab medium to a tab large plan. If you aren't already on a high data plan, upgrading to an eligible plan would suck.

I see activation credits in my account, but no additional bill credits, so for me it would be $400 up front plus $480 ($20 x 24 months). $880 total. Decent deal, but still holding out for BF. It's gotta be better.

Looks like the $199 in bill credits is very YMMV. Some people are being offered them, and some not. If I had those, I'd definitely pull the trigger on the XR tho.

Current Koodo deals I see on my account

iPhone 8 Plus $730 ($250 + $480)
iPhone XR $880 ($400 + $480)
iPhone X $980 ($500 + $480)

Are you coming off a previous tab? I was a byod originally. Plan eligible for tab medium right now.

I'm getting credits on just about everything. I have to stay iOS (family is a burden lol), so am monitoring.

Looks like I mainly get the $199 on tab large and above which would be a pricey plan upgrade. Usually $150 in bill credits on the tab medium deals.

Right now without changing my plan I can get

6s on tab medium (0+360) with 150 bill credit = 210
7 on tab medium (100+360) with 150 = 310
pre owned 8 on tab medium (200 + 360) with 150 = 410
8 on tab medium (250+360) with 150 = 460
XR on tab medium (600+360) with 150 = 810

Need to upgrade isn't urgent, so currently waiting out BF deals

Will the deals be better during Black Friday for existing customers? I’m seeing the same deals as OP.

No one has a crystal ball but historically Koodo deals are pretty good during BF

I see $180 in activation credits for an XR on my account. Still not worth it to me. iPhone 8 seems like a sweet price/perf for iOS right now. Certified returned iPhone 8 64GB for $200 on med tab, or $250 on med tab for sealed new unit. ($240 in activation credits)
Always in search of a great deal....

Does anyone know what happens to the bill credits ($33 over 6 months) if I pay off the tab after a month or two and pick up another phone?
I have a hunch they will stop and thus these credits are designed to prevent churning through new phones.
