There is an annual magazine put out called "Dogs in Canada". It lists most breeds and breeders for each breed are listed along with contact info. Also they are dog shows in major cities throughout the year. Most that show dogs are also breeders. You can get a list of the show dates and locations from the Canadian Kennel Club.
After contacting a breeder arrange to go to see and talk with the breeder. A good reputable breeder will interview you to see if you are a good fit for one of their dogs. If a litter has just been born you would be able to see the pups to decide on one.

Any reviews on Jaqhs labs retriever breeder? I didnt find any reviews on internet but its is CKC registered. I would like to know any reviews from its customers.
