Landzie Compost & Peat Moss Spreader is the original Landzie Spreader.

- Landzie Compost and Peat Moss Spreader is an easy to use, lawn roller that will help with any topdressing job.
- This all steel topdressing roller can spread any compost, peat moss, or other fine ground topdressing material.
- It has a mesh basket with diamond-shaped 1/2-inch by 3/4-inch openings. Breaks up clumpy materials as it tumbles, leaving behind any large, unwanted residual in the drum for disposal.
- The hinged door swings open for easy access and has two low profile latches, so the gate won’t open during use.
Heat treated powder coated finish (425 degrees).
Double locking clasps
Swinging hinged door
Comfort grip plastic handles
24″ wide with a 16″ diameter barrel.

I just got this & am looking forward to using it in 2 months when the snow melts.
The model the Princess Auto was selling last year had the design flaw of not being able to fill it easily. It looks like they figured it out this year and have a hinged door like the Landzie

I also noticed that Landzie has the same discount going for their lawn leveling rake. I have one of these and recommend it.

For over-seeding is it better getting the rake or the spreader? Seems like both would be overkill and take a lot of space in the shed.

So the one you got this year from Princess Auto has the hinged door? The single review on PA (from yesterday) says it does not have it - same as last year).
Just want to make sure before buying again (returned it last year due to the design flaw).

Looks like the door is shown in the product picture.

not sure for overseeding, but for spreading top soil, recommend a landscaping rake. previously i just used regular gardening rakes and shovels. i think the brand i used was 'razorback'

I just unboxed it & verified that it does indeed have a hinged door this year.

Could this be used to spread a thin layer of topsoil across the yard and then put down grass seed?

Considering the princess auto one. I have the Lawn Level that I bought end of season last year. Had Shippsy get it to Canada for me and look forward to using it this year.

For what it is, I feel like $80 is better justified than the $250 but YMMV.

Is the hinged door the same style of door as that of the Landzie? Is it possible to take /post a pic of it?

Thanks!

Door style is the same except the latches are on the ends of the drum

Thanks to OP for the idea and @RoughriderFan for the deal at PA, finished aeration and finally tried out the spreader. Did 2 passes with a cubic yard of compost (1st pass with seed mixed in), shortened 3 days of work to 1 for me, spreading more evenly and no need rake and redistribute. Best $90 spent on gardening tools.

Hi. I just called Princess Auto and apparently it's no longer available. If anyone has one they no longer need, I'd love to buy it. I'm in Ottawa but can travel to pick it up. Thanks,
