Laptop backpack

Going back to school and I need a medium size (40l or less) backpack to transport and protect a 13" Macbook air.

Any suggestion of good quality brand under 150$?

I currently use a McKinley black burn 28l that I've owned for too many years to remember. I still like it but there no safe place for a laptop and the waterproof layer is history.

Lenovo had a few eBay sales in past few months, perhaps wait for those to come back which I am sure will. Do a quick search in hot deals and see if any of those match your needs.

They were ridiculously cheap for a decent bag.

Amazon Basics. Affordable and decent, and will hold much more along with the laptop. I cannot imagine dropping more than 50$ on a laptop backpack.

Thanks! Didn't think about MEC, I'll go take a look in store. I also noticed Costco have a few interesting options online.

I use a Fjallraven Raven 20L. It's big enough for laptops and tablets but not overly bulky. It has a bunch of pockets to store stuff like cables etc.

MEC probably has the best backpack selection for any offline retail store.

Personally I might buy a Topo Designs backpack because they seem to have the coolest designs. https://topodesigns.ca/collections/laptop-bags

I had used so many laptop bags, laptop backpacks for work. I tele-commute from Vaughan toUnion station, vice versa via Go trains. I found MEC laptop backpack are comfortable, ight, and compact. They are expensive but the material is good.

And their warranty is good, no?

I think I'll find what I'm looking for in MEC, it's my best guess yet. Thanks for sharing your experience.

An other model that catch my attention is the Osprey Tropos 34L. But it's 200$, (157$ for what seems to be identical older model on The Last Hunt). I think Osprey have good quality products or at least it used to. Any experience with them?

They supposed to have lifetime warranty, but I don’t care much, just use for 2/3 years then get hew one. Again they are expensive but very well made and materials are good.
