[Centre HIFI] The last great plasma TV: 60VT60-$1800, 60ZT60-$2000, PN60F8500 $2000

Update:
WHO wrote: New Centre Hi-Fi flyer out:

Panny's prices are down, Sammy stayed the same.

VT60 @ 60" is now 1800$ (no indication for the 65" so they may be out of that)
ZT60 @ 60" at 2000$

So far IMO still one of the best TVs ever made and officially the best bang for the buck right now!

These TVs still have their full manufacturer's warranty starting on purchase date.

Panasonic:
TC-P60VT60: 2198.88$ (was 1998.88$) there was still one new in box at St-Leonard store
TC-P65VT60: 2698.88$ (was 2498.88$)

TC-P60ZT60: 2298.88$

Samsung:
PN60F8500 1999.99$

You work for them op? No price in title and then space between the first number of the prices to make me click the link. Thought I saw a deal for $298.88 only 2 left. > :(

I know there was one new in box 60VT60 because I've asked and I've been told there was 3 VT in St-Leonard store and one of the 3 is a new in box.

For the price, you're right that they jacked the VT price online but since it was the price I've posted I don't see why they won't do it...

^either way guys, the price of the time machine makes that price not so hot...

the fact is, nothing on the market can touch the overall picture quality of these displays, and that includes the ones for several times the price. we're in an unfortunate time in the display market :(

the price on the zt60 is nice though.

Good deal. My 60ZT is still rocking my world. Still one of the best tvs ever made.

re: on this deal.
Shipping a fragile tv like a plasma always worries me, I bought mine from a local shop and had to exchange it due to a stuck pixel. The chances of getting a new replacement tv is low.

The ZT60 is amazing I must say, however a couple of things to know:
1. Don't play Destiny (that $*&#(@ game that was supposed to be good) on it - it'll get burned, this is one TV you want to cycle content on for the first couple of hundred hours and age the phosphors a bit, that'll help
2. If you have a Kuro 9G, this one doesn't beat it in terms of overall image quality.

Now, it's got a lot more functionality than a Kuro that may make it worth your while, it's bigger, lighter, uses less energy, crazy picture, still buzzes on whites and I would still take it over any LCD currently on the market ...
At these prices, I would go for it!

Cheers,

you guys need to get over your high horses, this TV is NOT the "best TV ever made". It was at the time but not at all anymore. People love to live in this dream world forever...just like those who claim the "ps3 still has untapped power". Lol.

Hmm. With the prices of LG OLED displays coming down I'm torn between waiting or trying to find the last of the best Plasma displays.

I hate LED LCD televisions.

This would be good a year ago but only having one left and the remote possibility of getting a defective one is quite scary.

Waiting on OLED TV's to drop in price.

I once bought a TV in 1992 for $800. Based on that and the fact that groceries used to cost 25 cents in 1933, this deal is ice cold.

I'm sitting fine on my horse. The ZT beat out a first generation OLED in one shootout, so it's still way up there among the best 1080p tvs. I still haven't seen any LCD tv I'd rather have instead, 4K or not.

The next gen large OLEDs are coming and I'll be the first to dump my plasma when they begin offering good size/price ratio, but until then it's still one of the best TVs ever made.

Hey Warp - I am currently in this dilemma to try to find a ZT/VT screen our splurge for the LG 9300 OLED. I agree that value-wise, those OLED where a tough sell... The 9300 dropped to around 3k during Canada Day (1000$ off). It might hit a sweeter spot down the year when the new models come out. I also agree that the Viera ZT/VT series are some of the best ever made.

This review from the TV guys at CNET convinced me to wait a bit for the OLED. It's not perfect yet, but it's getting better :) CAVEAT: there are certain reviewers I cannot stand at CNET : some are pom-pom girls for the companies (Carnoy), some I can't stand and are clueless and highty-tighty (Stevens). But two guys I trust in there are Katzmeier and Guttenberg.

Katzmeier does the TV reviews and takes his image very seriously. I am a videophyte... but katzmeier is admittely very contrast-ratio proponent. It trumps almost everything else for him. He forgives slightly off color reproduction for insane contrast-ratio of the OLED
