be careful - this promo is a scam.

Purchased a training short for $36 on November 23.
Now it's $52 minus 20% = $41.6

Checked another item - the same story.
It's likely will be a better promo later this month.

It's not a "scam". You just have to be patient and do your reseach ahead of time and know what you want and at what price point.

If you visit their site often to follow their prices, you'll quickly notice that discount % will fluctuate with time, and not always with higher discounts later on. In general, you'd be doing well if you can get the item/size you want at about 50-55% off. Rarely will you get the 75% off (unless you're XXXL or really ugly stuff that no one wants).

Their website this morning was crashing when I tried to finalize my purchases. I finally managed to snag a long down jacket for my daughter (47% off), and a MIPs ski helmet for my son (52% off).

Do your research and strike when it's hot!

Thanks for the advise, but this is exactly what I do.
You were lucky to find a few items at good prices for you and I believe you did your research.
MANY items I checked today are actually more expensive with the current promo than they were a couple of weeks back with another promo.

i browse their site often and haven't experienced the fluctuating discount, yet, other than during black friday event where one day had highest discount than the other then right after the event everything got lower discount.

The few items I have been looking at did not have the "jacked up" price for this extra 20 off event. I am surprised to see Lowepro on there and snatched up the backup, don't need any more jackets.

Totally agree as I have bought SAXX underwear at 16.99 and it’s now showing 21.99. With the extra 20% off and 12% Ebates it works out fine.

A discount fluctuating up or down over time is completely reasonable. A price being jacked up for the purpose of adding a higher discount and making it appear more attractive is pretty scammy to me.

I ordered some crap from them a few day ago and screwed myself out of $20. Dark day.

i would think they don't always bring in inventory in at the same cost; like one shipment had 200 saxx underwear @ price X and the othershipment only had 50 pairs @ price Y hence the discount fluctuation to reflect different cost+margin?

yeah, it was a big change from carrying everything to focusing on their own branding. I too miss them and their sale!

FYI - I'm not saying this is a scam sale but I ordered this Bogs Tumalo hikers for $80.99 last month. Now it's $107.99 so it's not a deal even with 20% off. Make sure you do your research before jumping on this "sale".

They do fluctuate their prices... but no matter what you get a pretty good deal. I've gotten $180 runners for $75 in the past. Even if they are $90, its still a good deal. Hard to know if you get THE best price, but you will never get totally screwed by their prices.

Crap, I didn't know about the ebates deal. Really have to get on that. Order some stuff off them earlier today.

The backpack I got from there was $83, on SpoetChek it was $170 and on Ospreys website it was $180 so I was happy with the deal. Added another filler item to get to $100 and used the discount to get back down to $80.

Overall, pleased with what I got at the price I got it for.

Was hoping it was the same price at SportChek though so I could use my CT money.
