The last hunt is fine. This is 15% off on an "up to 50% off" sale. I'd expect a higher discount on final sales, like what they used to be. Those same SL jackets used to be 60% off.

Are arcteryx coats actually warmer than the cheaper coats (eg the north face), or are you just paying for the name?

This brand is about hiking skiing snowboarding claiming outdoor sport etc
And the material in general is excellent in breathability water repellent weight softness etc
Compare to other brand like north face does not do a good job in those field (there are indeed some models are good, but overall not as good as arc)

And only measuring warm is kind of none sense because a 5kg jack is definitely warmer than a 500g jacket. But I would say a800 g arc is probably warmer than a 800g north face and better material)

As for paying for name? Well, why are people still buying iPhone for more than a grand or almost 2 grand? Are those people all stupid just paying for name? I don’t know, maybe you will only figure out when you buy it)

It’s overall quality. It’s a premium outdoor clothing company and premium pricing. Prestige seems to be amongst the Asians ( non stop tour bus drop offs at the outlet).

It’s up to you to decide if you need that premium build. Urban activities generally don’t - but hanging off some ice thingee in the middle of nowhere - probably. Also the SAR, military, and LE community seems to really like them as well - so that’s a vote of confidence.

I am not sure it’s warmer than other brand. But it makes for outdoor sports. Lightweight and well blocked the wind.
