Laundry sink legs

I am planning on laying some subfloor, and vinyl flooring in my unfinished area, as I am in the planning phase, I can easily move the washer and dryer, but have problem with something that looks small, but want to know if anyone dealt with something similar.

- The laundry sink legs are currently touching ground.
- Need to lift at least an inch.
- Sink is attached on top with copper pipes. And bottom snugly with drain.

My only thought is to cut them legs off. Any better none intrusive idea?

Pictures attached for reference showing the legs of the sink.

Stay strong, situation always looks harder and that it will never end when you are in the middle of it, but remember past experiences, everything has an ending.

I don’t think the junk legs under a laundry tub would survive cutting off. Maybe build a small cabinet underneath to support it?

This

These sinks are flimsy at best

If you are doing an upgrade ... then I suggest you look at other types of Laundry Sinks

Like this all in one model at Home Depot = https://www.homedepot.ca/product/glacie ... 1001196758

There are other options / designs as well.

You’ll find lots of ideas at Big Box DIY Stores (HD, Lowe’s, Rona, Costco etc)

we got rid of the cheap builders plastic sink a few years ago ... and EXTREMELY HAPPY we did.

No going back after you go to a Stainless Steel Sink BTW

Modify the water and drainage piping? Probably an hour tops worth of work...

Do you already have materials? I would go with a direct glue down vinyl especially in laundry room, it thin and you could easily just slide it under those legs, also don't have to worry about water damage with a glue down product

If by "attached on top with copper pipes", you mean your water supply is rigid copper pipes, you can change them for flexible, steel braided supply lines, and the tailpiece is meant to slide up or down to accommodate different heights of the drain (just loosen the slipnut), so--overall--it's easy to adjust the height without cutting. It'll be impossible to cut all legs evenly, so you'll get a wobble you'll need to brace if you go that route.

I would highly recommend PointsHubby's suggestion and I have the same sink. A plastic laundry tub gets stained and nasty easily so you'll need to replace it every few years, while a stainless steel tub can be cleaned with a metal scouring pad and thus last forever.

Replace the sink with a stainless steel one. I got mine from Costco. Much better than the plasticky and disgusting one it replaced.

Wow. A $600 solution!
OP, cutting the legs will most likely a fail. If you aren't confident disconnecting and reconfiguring the supplies and drain, just hire a plumber. It'll probably be less than $100

The Trinity ones are truly awesome (carry over from the commercial food prep sector)
But pricey for most folks.
Dream House Stuff ... on our list for the “Handyman’s Garage Sink”

We instead went with an all in one cabinet with stainless steel sink
(Link provided in earlier reply )
It’s been great

When we redid our walk thru Mud Room / Laundry Room and added the new HE W&D
Space was extremely tight with the new appliances in place (much bigger footprint)
We looked at a lot of possibilities
No regrets on the all in one cabinet solution
And the SS Sink is amazing
So easy to keep clean, no matter what you throw at it

Not sure why you would say the under cabinet would get destroyed due to hand-washing
(Be that either ... washing ones hands, OR washing items by hand )
As the cabinet ... works like any other sink cabinet ... it’s just there as a base to support the sink
And does provide extra storage ... which we like / use
There is no exposed cabinet ledge around the sink
The metal sink has its own lip & ledge, so it goes seamlessly wall to wall on 2 sides (which we also caulked in), and then butts up to our washer on the third side.

So as I say ... I don’t understand your comment

No, I expect those are another $400.

I got the $375 Trinity sink from Costco. Don't remember if it was on sale or I paid regular price.

Those plastic gauge sinks are more study if you fasten them to the floor. If you don't want to use a fastener ... then use silicone instead.

LOL
Four legs bad, two legs good.
Those commercial sinks are great if you can get a proper configuration (with all the legs). I scored one for free to replace a cracked 1930's vintage concrete sink for one of my houses.

It's set up for display to sell, there is not even water hooked up to it.
Probably was over a cabinet originally.

Wasn't a serious question but rather a sarcastic comment.
