Lawn care advice needed
Hi All,
Would like some advice from the lawn experts on the forum what steps and the order to help rejuvenate my lawn. The North West side of my lawn doesn't get much sun do the shade from the house and maple tree and there is quite a bit of moss in that area along with other weeds. I intend to have trees thinned to help with sunlight so I hope this will help with moss issue also. I have sent in a soil sample and hope to get the results in a couple of weeks.
- Rake and get dead thatch removed
- Add lime if pH of soil is low?
- Address weeds and moss. For the moss I was thinking of using Scott's Turf Builder Lawn and Moss Control 23-0-3.
- Add fertilizer
- Aerate to address soil compaction
- Seed bare spots
- Add compost to lawn or triple mix?
Is the order above correct and when it comes to trying to get rid of the moss and weed control? Do I treat the moss first and then treat for other weeds like broadleaves, how much between the two or can then be done at the same time? I know I have to treat root cause of the moss issue so I will be looking at thinning out the large maple tree and aerating and seeing what the pH comes back from the soil test.
