ER is better imo, smoother. Bother are on the sweeter side. ER is also much harder to find than WR…which can be found at any liquor store, plus cheaper then ER.
I follow 8-9 bourbon YouTube channels, and I can't recall any of them ever saying Eagle Rare was over-rated. It's loved by "most".
(It should be said, eagle Rare is more readily available in the US, and cheaper, so a great bang for the buck, where here in Canada, they are priced higher, harder to find, some might find the price too much. I got mine for $67 and very happy at that price point seeing I've seen it at most stores for closer to $80).

Agreed on the Glencairn bit, drinking without one is wasteful!Glock45ACP wrote: ↑ Maybe I won the “bottle lottery” with my bottle last year, but Eagle Rare is easily the best bourbon I’ve had yet. I find it in a different league than similar priced bourbons and even better than several more expensive ones including scotch around the $100 price point.
The aroma is fresh and bright and is quite complex. It opens with fresh cut wood, a bit of orange peel, and then a strong apple note (like pure apple juice) comes through. There is a noticeable sweetness throughout, making me think of brown sugar. A strong fresh mint note is prominent at the edge of the glass and hints of vanilla are present. I can just sit and smell this bourbon for minutes with great pleasure.
On the palette it is less complex, but still very flavourful. Very smooth, with little heat, it is an easy sipper. The mouthfeel is somewhat thick with a creamy texture. The taste of caramel comes out first with that sweet apple following. The common cherry flavour pops out mid palette, kinda like a sweet cough syrup. This is where the flavours come together and I get very discernible caramel apple and caramel popcorn flavours. I feel like I’m at a fair when these come through. Then a long finish (1-2 min) of cherry cola. Overall, a very enjoyable bourbon that I found hits well above its price point. Also makes an awesome old fashioned, but go easy on the bitters to not overpower the flavours of the bourbon.
Keep in mind, I use a Glencairn glass which is a completely different experience to a standard tumbler. I cannot recommend these glasses enough to those who haven’t used them.

I had the same question.
From their website:
“How long will they hold my purchase?
Same-Day Pickup or Deliver to Store orders not claimed at an LCBO store within 21 days of the Ready for Pickup Notification email are subject to cancellation and refund without further notice.”

This is my favorite bourbon for the price. Nothing else comes close. I like Weller 107 as well, but it’s different and harder to find.
Some places in the US see ER for $30 in the grocery stores (California) other states you can’t find it, or it’s priced at $80-100 USD.

Just bought a bottle (or so it seems) we shall see when I go to pickup tomorrow.
How is this compared to the Elijah Craig bourbon that’s at LCBO? I really love that one but not too knowledgeable with bourbons.

I like ECSB but ER10 is better. As it should be - it's priced higher.
I always upvote respectful/helpful posts wherever I encounter them.

Its priced higher because we live in Canada, the reason you see so many good reviews for Eagle Rare is because it costs $25-30 american and the common reception is that “its good for what it is”.CaptSmethwick wrote: ↑ I like ECSB but ER10 is better. As it should be - it's priced higher.
Elijah Craig is much better in my opinion, but I would always choose Four Roses SiB over it.
One thing I’ve learned is that you need to try different bottles and develop your senses over time, once you’ve done this you’ll come to your own conclusions. Take what you read online with a grain of salt, everyone has their own opinions and preferences. I find myself disliking lower proof bottles over time and appreciating the value that other bottles can provide … *cough* Wild Turkey 101.
Oh and I don't think theres such a thing as a “bad bourbon”, given the strict requirements they are all good in their own way … unfortunately pricing in Canada finds a way to unbalance alot of things.

Tried it last night, quite enjoyable stuff for $60. But again, Bourbon is my jam, hard to find much better value for the dollar than this.

I love FRSB but then I'm a sucker for single barrel bourbons - probably why I like ER10 so much. I agree that it's not the most complex tasting bourbon out there but it's a darned good single barrel bourbon. FWIW, I travel a lot and always check out whiskey prices - I've never seen ER10 for less than the USD equivalent of this LCBO price. As with most Sazerac brands, they choke the supply to the point that their MSRP is irrelevant.Zimtron wrote: ↑ Its priced higher because we live in Canada, the reason you see so many good reviews for Eagle Rare is because it costs $25-30 american and the common reception is that “its good for what it is”.

Thank you OP!
I have long been a Woodford Reserve fan, but a picked up a bottle of this bourbon yesterday. I had some tonight while making dinner and it is my new favourite. I'm going to try and pick up another bottle while they are still around.
