[LCBO] Samuel Adams Utopias 2021 - LCBO (710mL) - $149.95 (Limited Edition ~13000 produced worldwide, 660 being sold in Canada)

"Samuel Adams says that supplies of this year's Utopias are "extremely limited" — CNN estimates that only about 13,000 bottles were produced — and each oversized 25.4-ounce bottle has a suggested retail price of $240 USD

While each release is slightly different, the Samuel Adams Utopias 2021 takes a unique approach by using copious amounts of Balaton Cherries. The sweet, tart black cherry flavor infuses with notes of vanilla, oak and a touch of maple. Never cloying sweet, the layers of flavors add to the intrigue in each sip.

For this offering, the Samuel Adams brewers used French Oak Wine casks. Adding a touch of caramel, the resulting hue and flavor is sublime."

My 20 year anniversary is coming up and it doesn't look like we'll be celebrating abroad. We both love beer, so now we'll have something for our special day. Thanks OP.

how much 'high' will this highly priced beer give me? Have any RFDers purchased and tried this yet?

All that I know from beer is that it's generally best served freshly bottled. Is this one different?

I remember I had a Mill Street porter hidden in the back of my garage fridge for 2 years, one sip and it went down the drain. Terrible

Just for notes this is not a typical 'beer' and doesn't have carbonation. More like a liquor ~27% Will easily last many years once opened.

I also can't compare it to anything else I've tried beer or whiskey etc.. It's very unique.

This stuff will last up to 10 years. It's more liquor then beer.

Just make sure you don’t store it on its side like you would for wine. The cork will cause issues.

No cork on these, at least on the 2019 version it's a bottle cap. The ceramic bottle then has a screw lid which reseals.

bought one in 2016 and it was also a bottle cap, though I remember it going funky after a while.

Don't expect carbonated beer.

Drinks like a port wine or Sherry.

Or diamonds....

Anyways, its the limited edition (actually #'ed bottles) and the fact that it actually tastes pretty good that commands the deserved high price. Plus its considerably cheaper to buy here in Canada than in the US ($240 USD).
