LED Strip Lighting - Best Deals - Quality - Installation Advice???

I'm looking for a new project to take on around the house, maybe surprise my daughter for Xmas with custom lighting in her room, so here we are, I'd love to hear what people with more experience than I have to say on this subject, I just started researching this and am at the infancy stage of my education. I'll update this post with the best advice and thus keep things organized.

From my early research they are three types of led strip light 3528, 5050, and 5630. The 5630 is the brightest one but doesn't come in RGB. The 5050 comes with RGB. Where are you looking to buy from?

Like any RFDer, wherever will give me the best price/quality. I see $18 as the normal price for a 5m string, and obviously it would be nice to buy locally, but here in Montreal I haven't seen any competitive pricing yet.

Ebay is your best bet. Local prices are way too high. I bought a 5M 3528 with 44 key ir remote and power supply for $12. Also bought a 5M 5050 led strip with 44 key IR remote for $11.

anyone have any experience with a certain seller / brand?

I bought some strip LEDs from Home Depot once, and the LED's sometimes flicker / change brightness a bit. It is not all the time. I though it might be the circuit or power, but it does it no matter where I plug them in the house.
